Question about Zanussi FS1255S Front Load Washer
Hi i have a 6 year old fs1255w. last week got a piece of plastic piping stuck in it but managed to get it out through waste pump. the piping broke up and i removed it in 4 pieces. since this incident the spin mode was making an unusual whining noise, now it wont spin at all. am i looking at a new machine or would anyone have a suggestion. thanks in advance

SOURCE: bearing noise
Hi there im the wash docotor. With your zanussis once you have removed the back half of the pannel and the top pannel. you will have to then detach the motor wire plug. then the heater wires and also the there is a sensoer on the side of the drum that also has a wiring connection. Also detactch the earth wires Then here come the tricky part. if you look on the top of the drum you have a rubber pipe connected to it comming from the washer draw detach that its easy. Then you have to dicconect the door seal from the front of the machine by the door (do not dissconect from the seal from the drum as you dont have to . Then disconnect the the drain hose. once this is all done you have to disconnect the legs, from the drum side. these are easily done as the pegs come out easily if you push in the pips from one side you can either knock them out with a hammer but it is best to pull em out with either some long bent nose pliers or gripping em in such a way with a monkey ranch Best way og getting the drum out is once you have done all that is to turn the machine onto its back and lifting the casing off leaving the drum on the floor.

It was suggested that the pump had failed and taken out the programmer with it - expensive! Wife wouldn't wait, and bought new machine. Problem almost solved - anyone want an out of order washing machine?

should be fine as long as the outlet is lest than 5 feet above ground level in theory, but that's an awfully long way for it to pump. i would set it up so that the highest point in the line is as close to the washer as possible( that way the pump won't have to work for it to go the entire way to the waist outlet).

1 yes all standard.2 Yes you can get a Y piece. 3 no you will only use water from cold. But you can solve that by going to a good hardware store or B.Q and gettein a self cutting tap for washing machines. You can fit this in just minutes, and do not even need to turn off the water supply. just make sure there is a clean straight piece of pipe to fit it to. 4 yes fit waste pipe to u bend under sink.

Hope I can help. When you press the start button is there a buzzing coming from down by the filter if so Check that there is not something stuck in the filter. You will have to be careful depending on how much water is left in the drum so put some towels down and undo filter slowly or get the machine near a door then release filter out onto a door step.when drained shine a torch up inside filter and see if the little plastic blade on pump can turn but do not try and force it,if you do find anything in there then try it again and check the pockets. If there is still a fault you will have to call out your Engineer.
