Question about Jenn-Air JCD2295HES Side by Side Refrigerator

Ice accumulation at defroster drain hole

Recently my jenn-air side-by-side started collecting water and freezing it in the bottom of the freezer compartment.  I followed the advice given previously on this website, and even emptied, unplugged, and completely defrosted the whole thing to remove any ice, and still the problem returned a few days later.  When I defrosted a second time, I noticed that the water level was right to the metal tray, and stayed there.  I looked in the back of the freezer for any drain but could not find one.  Is there a drain for the water out of the freezer that could be blocked?  Any advice is appreciated.

You can usually clean them out from the inside of the freezer.I use a piece of plastic tubing to run down them. You can also use a piece of wire as long as it doesn't have a sharp end that might damage the tube. You can remove the cover from the back of the fridge and you will see the tube coming out of the cabinet going to the drain pan. Post back if you need further help.

Ice forming on bottom of freezer floor. Has to be broken up and removed daily. Seems to happen every night.

Most times when that happens it is because the condensate drain is blocked from draining into a pan below the refrigerator where warm air blows across the water and the water is returned to air inside your home. The things need to do is unplug the refrigerator and remove contents of the freezer and then the back panel inside freezer. At the very bottom of the evaporator is a pan that collects the condensate during defrost. It has a drain hole in center. Sometimes the refrigerator is leaning a little and after defrost the ice remains on one side of pan and slowly creeps up to cover the hole completely, while other times the drain line slowly gets gunk build up in it causing water to freeze because of the blockage. I will return with a link to Sea Breeze Tips page where there is a collection of other peoples views to approach this. Sea Breeze

poss answer is drain hole/vent blocked,as unit auto defrosts water/vapour collects at bottom and when unit swiches back on it freezes, poke out drain with thin wire with a small piece of cloth dipped in clorine bleach or blow out with air hose.do not use hot water to manually defrost/ clean drain holes every 6 months

Water dripping from inside of freezer compartment.

The condensate drain has a blockage further down and possibly in one of the turns as it leads down to the pan below your refrigerator. Most times the blockage begins slowly until the opening of the drain hole under the evaporator freezes itself shut. Below is a link to some solutions I have collected over a period of time. Also has a short movie2.gif that makes the repair look simpler. There are many reasons for this happening for example water leaking from a water supply line for the dispenser or ice maker, a crack in the defrost pan, water leaking inside and draining through the refrigerator cabinet, but most are caused by a defrost drain line blockage. Below is a link that may be helpful so try to take it all in and use the parts that most refer to your specific problem, Thanks Sea Breeze

Ice build up at bottom th freezer

You are correct. To fix this problem, clear the drain tube or channel and allow the defrost water to flow down to the drain pan.

Water on floor under unit & ice bottom of freezer

By going online, saw several posts re this problem. In short, the water drain was clogged and there was also a problem with the defrost timer. Service man blew out the drain line with compressed air and installed a new timer. Voila! Problem fixed. Interestingly, the serviceman found a wad of what looked like putty, but was sticky like gum in the drain area. He said he had never encountered anything similar.

Water collecting in freezer bottom

Hello, this sounds like you have a blockage in the drain tube, remove panel back of freezer..you may see ice build up...melt ice with hair dryer/heat gun...you will see a pan below evaporator...melt ice in pan...dry water up in pan with paper towel...now you should see a hole in pan that leads to drain tube...pour some hot water in pan..wait a couple minutes..mop up water and repeat this step 2-3 times....once you have done this find some flexible curatain wire or electrical wire..poke down the hole until you see the water drain..now it is clear..put back panel back and you are good to go. The reason you see water in the Freezer is because the water has been leaking into the freezer instead of running into the drain hole...If you need any further assistance please feel free to comment again. good luck! P.s Please don't forget to rate my solution thanks! Mike.

Water collects and freezes in the bottom of the freezer

Your defrost drain is clogged. Get all the ice out and get to the defrost drain hole at the very rear bottom of the freezer. I use a piece of plastic tubing to run down them and clean them out, but you can use a piece of wire if it doesn't have a sharp end that will damage the tube. You can also remove the rear cover of the fridge and you will see the tube going from the cabinet to the drain pan and clean it from there. Post back if you need further help.
