SOURCE: Why has the heater quit and blows only cold air on passenger side of my dual climate control on Buick Lucerne

Sounds like a a venting problem. Most cars up until now days and some still do use vacum assist to change venting from hot to cold and changing different vent configurations. So you have a vacuum leek somewhere in the system. If they are mechanical then its a fuse most likely . also in older cars there were cable system's witch controlled everything. If you here hissing sounds you know you have a vacuum leek somewhere in the system. If there is a worrying sound something is jammed up mechanical problem. It's a needle in the hay stack sometimes trying to figure out and you have to do it by deduction to figure out what the real problem is. Good luck

How do you take apart the dashboard to replace the ambient air temperature sensor on a 2007 Buick Lucerne?

ambient air temperature is the air outside the cabin not inside it, otherwise it would rise as the car warmed up. Or do you mean the temperature that the heater works from? In which case, Google

Buick Lucerne Remove Dashboard.

Someone will have a YouTube video.

- Low engine coolant level
- Insufficient warm up time
- Faulty engine coolant temperature sensor
- Engine coolant temperature sensor harness is open or shorted
- Engine coolant temperature sensor circuit poor electrical connection

help.jpg What does this mean? When is the code detected? If the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) detects the calibrated amount of air flow and engine run time have been met, and the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) has not met the minimum thermostat regulating temperature, the code P0128 will set. Possible symptoms - Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light) P0128 Buick Description An Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor monitors the temperature of the coolant. This input is used by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) for engine control and as an enabling criteria for some diagnosis. The air flow coming into the engine is accumulated and used to determine if the vehicle has been driven within the conditions that would allow the engine coolant to heat up normally to the thermostat regulating temperature. If the coolant temperature does not increase normally or does not reach the regulating temperature of the thermostat, the diagnostic that use ECT as enabling criteria may not run when expected.

Regarding which thermostat to use, I am guessing it depends on where you live.

Ask these people when you order the thermostat.

P018b code

They are both fuel related codes. You should worry more about the repair than if you drive unless you want to drive it to get it repaired. The car will drive or will stall out. There is no definitive answer. Those are the only codes you get? Do you have any history codes?

All the lights came on in my 2006 buick lucerne and the saying service battery charging system occured

There is a solar sensor on the middle of the dashboard if you want the lights to be on all the time cover the sensor and the dash lights will be on all the time. I suggest tape some cardboard over it. It is as big as a quarter. Put some duct tape over it. Thing is your headlights will switch to your night driving lights during the daytime if they are left on.

So many faults can cause this so i would advise that you ask a local mechanic to have a look as combined with the fuel economy it could be a auto choke staying on which could be caused by a faulty temperatur sensor but who knows without plugging it in

I have a 2006 Buick Lucerne CXS with 170,000 miles. The engine seems to miss from time to time while on the highway. The engine has also stalled twice when at a stoplight. Any ideas?

Could be leaky spark plug wires sending some of the spark into the atmosphere. At night if you peep under the hood you would probably see these tiny sparks popping out of the worn wires. Also you may need a tuneup.
