Check to make sure the brake pedal is in the fully upright position. Check the brake switch to make sure it is not stuck. Hope this helps.

Parking brake light won't go off after releasing brake lever

Park brake lights normally operate by a small plunger type switch the turns off when the level or pedal is placed in the off position. Over time the spring in the lever weakens and placing the lever in the off position no longer depresses the switch. The switch can sometimes be adjusted to make better contact, or the switch bracket can be bent so the lever and switch make proper contact.

Parking brake won't hold vehicle on incline. Dealer says it's not supposed to have that much force. Isn't this wrong? 2003 Toyota Sequoia with just driver

NO, the dealer is correct, the handbook says always put the car in gear/park and turn the wheel toward the kerb when parking on an incline.this is because most cars have discs all round and after use the rear discs will shrink allowing the brakes to be inefective.(VW/hyundai/toyota will not cover you if your car runs away on its own........

If you put your foot on the brake, the tail lights and parking lights will still come on. Possibly your brake is sticking. Check to see if it is and if it is put WD40 for a quick fix. See a tech for them to fix your brake alignment. Good Luck!
