Prior to changing out faxes there was not an issue of slowness. The older devices we used were not slow. I should add that there are several HP Officejet Pro l7780 thru out the building and the only ones that aren't slow are the ones hooked up to an individual users. I would venture to guess the ones that are slow have about 50-100 users receiving faxes. Would this have anything to do with it?

Slow faxes would have to do with the fax machine itself or the line quality of the line that is connect to this fax, noise on the line will do this and will also give error messages on the other end so check this..

Wow I am surprized on the low rating you given me but meanwhile yes the heavy use by lots of users can slow it down. Now just because other machines are vine And i did not know this prior to your rating!!! Hp are sensitive to line noise while others have a deeper sort of error correction protocal.. But you did not mention lots of things here and the rating is soo low.. I would encourge you to use a helpful or fixya when rating Expets.. I did graduate from a college here and I kinda know more things. Your asking me a question and want a answer? Okay how about some gratitude as I do not get paid here answering FREE questions.. Thanks

We have an HP L7780 and have problems rec. faxes - error 232

Hate to say it, but it means "Don't buy HP printers". You'll be a whole lot happier with Canon or Epson. I had no end of trouble with more than HP all-in-one. They just get flaky after awhile, and the software (particularly scanning) is terrible.
