Have you check the jumper to see if there are master or slave settings. depending on your cdrom make sure if one is master the other is slave.

Replaced hard drive, computer isn't completely loading

If you replaced with a brand new HD then there are no files for the computer to read and boot from. You really have two choices, contact the vendor of the computer and see if they will offer you a set of the original installation disks. If not, you will have to go buy a new "operating system" set of disks ex: Windows 8 disks. You will not have any of the information you stored before as it was all on your old hard drive. However, in rare cases, a pulled hard drive that was unable to boot can be READ as an external drive. You can buy an external case for it and plug it into an operating computer and perhaps retrieve your files. You will not be able to transfer any programs. Just files like photos word processing etc.

Why mother board donot respond to hard disk maxtor n256 40 gb ?

What Motherboard are you using and what BIOS - I suppose it is an IDE drive (40Gb) On the older HDD you should check your jumper settings to identify the drive as a Primary or Secondary drive.Make sure the IDE cable is properly connected. This can be tricky sometimes as one of the pins could have bent.
Make sure the drive actually spins when you power the computer on. Hold you hand lightly on the drive, and you should feel a slight vibration. If all of this is ok then -

when you boot up, go into the BIOS and see if the BIOS picks up the drive. If this is all ok, then your HDD maybe formatted with an incompatible file system and you would need to run a FIXDISK. Or the HDD is just shot. Try with another drive to verify.

My hp laptop shows non system disk or disk error

First - re-seat the harddisk and reboot the computer. If the computer does not boot up then reboot andgo into the BIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If itdoesn't detect the hard drive then it could be faulty. Then the hard drive needsto be replaced in the computer/laptop, Windows installed and the computer orlaptop's device drivers plus your programs etc. to get a functioningcomputer/laptop again.

System will not boot to windows, screen lockup with screen indicating BIOS Revision 1.0.13 and F2 and F12 function option keyboard not responding to functions.

This is usually a good indication that something is wrong with either the hard disk or CD/DVD drive - but almost always the hard disk.
Disconnect the hard disk, and see if it will boot to the point that it gives an error that the hard disk is missing.
If it does, try another hard disk in the system.
If not, post a reply to this solution, and I will advise on other possible issues.

Not shown in BIOS!!!
How old is that hard disk?
Have you been receiving messages showing "SMART error" or something like that?

If yes, hard disk can be damaged.

I am unable to fromat my IBM machine, its not

your bios maybe infected with a virus. first try removing the cmos battery in your ibm machine for 1 minute and put it back. next, make sure that the hard disk is working and is not corrupted try making a new partition in a different pc. Paste all the files from the windows xp installer to your newly made partition. next put the hard disk into your ibm pc. and wait till it boots into your hard drive and the setup will begin. make another partition for your windows xp system and install it to that directory. if you cannot boot into your hard disk, there may be a problem with your ide cables. try checking the cables from your ibm pc connected to your hard disk.pm me if you still have problems and questions.. heres my email jmizpahadonai777@gmail.com
Thank you

Unable too logg into the system

sounds like a hard disk issue try booting from the original s install disk . the see if you can reapir the installtion
if it still can recognise the disk you probably have a hard disk problem. Eithe buy or get a techical person to call out and check the hard disk for you.
if you have win xp boot to the cd then choose repair at the first menu , when you get to the dos screen type in

chkdsk /f and let it do what it must to complete.

hope this helps
