Thanks for getting back to me with your solution. However, I'm not sure if that's my problem. Have you ever heard the term solarizing. This is the term the repair man told me when he looked at it. I really haven't heard humming as you stated it. The repair man thought it was the DMD board. Do you think I can purchase the DMD board from that part store?

    Thanks,

Hi,

Sounds like maybe your color wheel needs to be replaced. If you have noticed a humming noise in conjunction with the intermittent colors, then that is most likely the issue.
My 51" Vivitek started to hum loudly about 2 months ago and I kind of ignored it ,but it got so loud and annoying I had to do something.First changed the bulb and then bought a color wheel at www.vancebaldwin.com .Login as guest and then enter your model number into corresponding box. They have a few Vivitek parts.
I replaced my color wheel myself and it works great!
I'd be happy to help any way I can.
Good luck!

Well yes its correct. The DMD board if replaced would resolve the issue.

I just found out a few weeks ago that you can buy DMD boards and Light Engines from Discount-Merchant.com ..... You might want to look there.. DMD is around $180-$200 and Complete engines are around $300.

    Thank You
