Extra Line when printing from a dos-based program

Ok, I know it's a little lame to still be using a Dos-Based program. But I'm using a Point of sale program at work that is dos-based, and as they sometimes say "If it ain't Broke don't fix it"... Anyway, When I print to THIS printer (Dell 3100cn), from this DOS-BASED program only, it prints an extra sheet of paper with the following ONE line of information on it: @PJL EOJ NAME="0357335335.. etc". I'm reasonably sure EOJ is end of job, but I would like it NOT to print this unessessary piece of information and quit wasting paper. Is there something I can do to shut this off?? (This line is not printed from ANY of our other printers)

THANK YOU!! Extra line printing... @PJL EOJ NAME...

I am using dos based foxpro application in widows xp. when ever i take print from epson Fx 2175. the print job is paused at last line until i close the application. please rectify.clarify,...

Many DOS programs were designed to write directly to the printer's buffer, rather than to a spooler like more modern applications. It sounds like FoxPro is doing exactly that - and isn't designed to release the job until being completely closed.

Turbo c is not working in full screen in windows 7. Please let me know if you know the Soluation.

Vista and upwards do not support full screen for DOS applications. If you need to use it in full screen mode, use DOS BOX. But it will crash if you perform pointer or memory based operations.

I have very old dos based program but printer is not sported with dos printing.my printer brother hl-2040 have lpt1 port also

This will be a hard one to do unless you hook it up to LPT 1 and run a dos window and print from lpt one but the thing is the dos program has to support it as well

Print from DOS

Try Start --> Programs --> MS DOS

or Start --> Run --> enter CMD

this will take you to a DOS screen

To print a file use the type command and pipe it to LPT1
e.g. type myfile.log > lpt1

Extra Line when printing from a dos-based program

well..that EOJ line, is possibly farther down in the program settings, and is like a page break. the Dell is only doing what it's reading, so the answer is in the programming of the application. Perhaps you might query that company about how well that program interfaces with the Postscript quality printer you have?
