Question about Electric Lawn Mower

Electric lawn mower will not start

During it's last time at-bat, the lawn mower stopped running mid-job. I checked the power source, thinking that a breaker was thrown, but the outlet and source are good. The cord looks fine and I would just like to know where to look for the possible problem and how to fix it myself.

Thank you

Check the speed controller and also check the terminals on the motor.

The same thing just happened to me, so I checked the mower, power outlets, circuit breakers in the house....finally I checked the power cord from the mower to the wall outlet. It was faulty and turned out to be the real culprit. Hope that helps.

Electric lawn mower stopped working

Take off the black plastic hood (4 screws), clean debris and check connections to, and condition of, shunted brushes. They're available from B&D parts for a few bucks.

Starts, but halve the power

Has the mower been tipped on its side since you used it last?
are you using fresh petrol ( less than 6 weeks old!?)
does it smoke much when running?
If you could answer these 3 questions I maybe able to help!

Corded electric mower loses power then comes back on during use

Same likely answer from several possibilities. Likely to be a poor electrical contact. Check *the supply had good contact for plug and an adequate fuse. *possible loose contact in the handle switch *if several years old, possible worn carbon brushes in motor. Easy to replace. *You should be using an RCD cut out switch. Check if mower works without it. Replace if dodgy
NB Only try to fix last two if you know what you are doing!

Mower is the Swisher ZT 2660 runs great. Blades slow then stop during cutting, I changed belts (drive & deck). Last year you advised it maybe the electric clutch. Question is that a do it yourself...

I have this mower and had this same problem. It turned out the bolts holding the motor to frame backed out and were allowing the motor to tilt, and then the belts would slip and burn up. Check all motor bolts for tight, and if not tight change bolts and lock washers. Lock washers were not originally on these mowers.

check motor if armature are not broken & see if the rectifier not burnt. rectifier works from ac & convert it to dc to run the motor.
