You can set the password to your wireless in the settings of your router. To get to the settings of your router you'll have to find out the IP address of your router. Usually this is 192.186.0.1 but this can change depending on the make/model of your router.
When you find out the IP address of your router just type this into the address bar of your internet browser and look up the tab that allows you to change the password.

I want to know how to put password to my router

If you mean putting WPA or WPA2 encryption on your router to prevent unauthorized access to your wireless network/Internet then -
To connect to your wireless router, the router's wireless settings needs to be configured with the SSID, encryption etc. and also the wireless cards in all the laptops/computers needs to be configured with these router's wireless settings. Then the laptops/desktop computers can communicate with your wireless router.
Connect a LAN cable from the Linksys to the LAN port on your computer.
Open a browser and enter the Linksys configuration URL
http://192.168.1.1
The default login = admin
The default PW = admin
You can protect your router by changing the default admin PW (write it down and put it in a safe place)
Go to the wireless configuration and set up the SSID and WPA or WPA2 encryption.
Now apply these settings to the wireless card in your laptop/computer.
To secure your wireless network from unauthorized access, please click on this link and follow my instructions :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r3559128-wireless_router_security

Cannot connect second wireless computer

Check your router settings and the password in there. Make sure the password you are entering is EXACTLY the same. It is case sensitive. For example:
597E5577 is not the same as 597e5577. Also check for a space in the beginning or end of the password. In most routers there is an option to display characters instead of the **** it normally shows.

How can I put password on my wireless router ?

Do you mean that you need to put a Password for the "Wireless Network"? i.e. network key or password to access to your wireless connection.

Access to your router, Click on "Home" then click "General Setup" icon, then you click on the "Wireless icon" check on "Security Settings" and set your "Encryption Key" (There are 4 Encryption Keys, setting one will do.

Hope it helps.

My internet connection via the router (d-link DI-524) have slowed down. how do i reset settings or put a password?

Maybe you have an open WiFi (no password wireless) and anyboby near can connect to your router and download files, this can slow down your Internet connection. To put a password to your wireless network, enter setup preferably by a wired connection to router, in your browser type the default IP address of it (http://192.168.0.1), the user is admin and its password must be left blank (default settings), at the Home tab go directly to Wireless option since you'll only change your WiFi from unsecure to secure, there you can choose the security type, WPA is recommended, after select it you can put the new Key (password) of your WiFi, and finally apply to get changes working, just remember that after this procedure, you'll have to enter the password in each new wireless connection to your router.

>Use "Admin" as the username and leave the password blank when the login screen appears.
>Please click on Administrator settings and change the User Name and Password.

If you're trying to put a password/secure the Wireless network, then follow the steps:

>In the Router setup page, click on Wireless Settings.
>Under Wireless Security Mode, select Security Mode: WEP/WPA/WPA2.
>Enter the Security Key manually or enter the Phrase to generate the Security key automatically (only in WPA/WPA2) and save the settings.
