SOURCE: Dryer taking longer to dry clothes

For a gas dryer:
Assuming the dryer is working properly and the control cycles are ok, look for things like a restricted venting system which inclides the exhaust, lint screen, etc. This would be the large pipe connected to the dryer exhaust that vents outside.

If it's an electric dryer, there could be issues with heating elements, thermostats, a control board, the timer, etc. Also check for any excessive lint build-up.

SOURCE: dryer working to long to dry clothes

more than likely the belt needs to be replaced and the unit needs to be cleaned out (too much lint built up in the unit)

SOURCE: it takes longer to dry your clothes you have to restart the drye

first clean the pip from the unit to the outsde vent.
then inside your unit there are 2 felts that need to be cahnge, over time they go bad and the heat run out the drum and you can feel the hood is hot but it still not to good . it will save you electric bill when you fix it. :)

Hi

When dryer wont heat or wont turn on or will behave as its behaving with you it means that the Thermal fuse which is located inside duct on the back has gone bad and should be replaced as it cannot be reset. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

It is taking far too long to dry, this has only recently started? what could be the problem?

Does it get hot? If it does, then the problem is reduced air flow, caused by a lint filter that hasn't been cleaned, masses of fluff in the exhaust pipe (usually on bends), or the external vent not opening properly. Birds can also nest in the vent pipe if the vent isn't protected or is broken.

If it doesn't get hot, you need a new element. Some dryers have two elements if the dryer has a high and low setting. just one element can fail.

Washer dryer is no longer drying

two things to check take rear half of cabinet off and check the dryer duct (lhs from front) is not blocked. this is very common check water is being taken in during dry - the water is used to condense steam from the drying clothes. easiest way to check this is to see that some water is being drained during the drying cycle. i assume that drain is operating ok
