External Speed-Dial Default Lines

All of our external speed-dial numbers default to Line 4, but we have recently had Line 4 disconnected, therefore, when we use our speed-dial numbers, the operator says the line has been disconnected. How do we change the default line from #4 to another connected line? Thanks!

You have to remove line 4 from appearing on all of your phones.
Login to your system with Feature ** config.
Go to extensions find lines configuration, and set Line004 not in service on EACH extension.

Hello. I have a M7310 Nortel office phone. All of a sudden, the Speed Dial button will not work. In checking the phone, all the speed dial numbers are still programed in the phone, but again the speed dial...

What? They are either programmed or not programmed. If the button is blank, I'm voting for NOT programmed.

If your system is old enough, it's probably lost the backup battery. Ugly things, like pulse dial and only 2 lines are what usually happens, along with losing all of the button mapping but your 2 lines and the default programs of LNR, CONF, etc.

If it's just one phone, there's no magic recall. You'll just have to reprogram it. Same with the system if you've lost everything, but I"d call a repair tech first to fix the battery on the software cartridge.

Press Intercom button for Date and line 1 button for time. If you press Intercom #66 enter speed dial number 10-99 is station speed dial. If you press Intercom #66 and enter speed dial numbers 100-999 will be system speed dial. Hope this helps. I included a site below with program manuals.

KX-Ta824 Speed dialing problem

Panisonictel.com has a FAQ for this model here

In that FAQ, there is this explanation of your problem:

When I tried to access speed dial, it does not call out.
When storing speed dial number of external parties, the stored speed dial number must include CO (outside line) access code (9 or 81…etc) even with direct line access. If the external number is 1234567, you must store the speed dial number as 91234567.
This rule applies to all system speed dial, station speed dial and speed dial key.

It looks like you're just going to have to add a leading 9 to all the speed dial numbers for that function to work.
