No, that is the "waveguide cover".

It provides very important protection for the magnetron.

And always keep it clean according to your manual's instructions.

SOURCE: what is wave guide in

Why are you asking? I am curious as it is a very specific question, unusual for this site.
Waveguides are usually made of metal, brass is common but not I suspect in a cheap domestic product.

SOURCE: my emerson microwave #mw8999rd shoots out fire from a silver piece of cardboard thats on the righthand inside of my microwave oven. whats with that?

There is electrical problem in your microwave heating circuit. This is a fire hazard and you should stop using this microwave and unplug from the outlet. This is not something you can fix and the fuse does not protect your system anymore. The best choice is to purchase a new one and throw this away.

The fan on the one day old Oster Microwave runs after finished cooking. All cardboard has been removed.

It is supposed to run on and will stop on its own as long as the door is closed. The purpose is to remove steam and condensation, plus smells from the cooking cavity and cool down the magnetron (the part that emits the microwaves).

Oster 1.1.cu.ft countertop microwave model OGF41101 stopped heating

check the high voltage fuse on the inside of the unit if this is not showing a fault then you would most likely be looking at replacing the magnetron in your unit this is the most common piece beside the fuse that shorts out and is what is directly realted to what is actually heating your food depending on what type of microwave it is it may be cheaper to just buy another microwave if the place of origin on the microwave came from a walmart or target store where as buying a magnetron may cost you between 50-100 dollars which is about the price of a micro wave at one of these stores if you have any further questions message me back and please remember to rank how this opinion has helped it allows me to continue helping others in similar situations Thanks Rick

Microwave keeps shutting off

The magnetron is overheating, tripping the thermostat, which shuts off all power until it cools down.

This is usually caused by a blocked air vent, failed internal cooling fan, or failing magnetron.

If it's out of warranty, I'm sure you'll find it's uneconomical to repair, even if you could get parts for this brand.

Good luck.

Arcing inside microwave

unless you are familiar with these, leave it alone. Over time small particles of food become carbonized inside the oven, hence the electrical display. the solution is to clean it after every use.
