Question about Canon PIXMA iP4300 InkJet Photo Printer
Paper tray was forced down accidentally and broke the trayswitch actuator part of the right hand door hinge. Superglued a small piece of plant label plastic (5mm x 12mm) to the top of the hinge. This then presses the switch actuator when the paper tray is down. The topcover can be removed by pressing the "hooks" - two front_under, two rear and one each side with a small flat screwdriver through the slits. Disconnect power & USB cables first!

On the ip4300, the clips that hold the front of the cover on are on the bottom, not the front as shown in the service manual for the 4200.

Its a defective printer you have that cant get out of paper output tray is close or that the paper output tray is not properly placed into the printer.
Try to reseat the output tray and let me know. If it does not work, you may need to send printer to repairs.
