SOURCE: I cant view DivX Film Subtitle in Sony DVP-NS67P home DVD player

Hi Ramink..

Try the program Sub2Divx (I have the same DVD sony dvp-ns67p worked properly). It takes just 2 minutes to put the subtitle in divx and is not fixed, only appears when tight subtitle on the remote control. I have a link to a tutorial but it is in Portuguese. SOURCE: VHS won't work

Had the same problem on my JVC vcr/dvd combo unit.
You need to turn off the timer function. I did this by making sure my remote was in the "VHS" mode...turn the swith from TV to the right (found on the remote in the upper left corner...an then hit the "vcr" button. Then point the remote at the VCR unit and hit the No. 4 button (timer turns off). Your unit should not have the red timer displayed and you should be able to play your tapes okay.

Hope this helps.

When I watch a movie and the dialogue switches to other languages when foreign characters are talking, I dont get any of the subtitles. I have to turn subs on when this happens. V frustrating.

Maybe that's how it works, unless there is an auto subs or you must leave subs (aka subtitles) on.

You did not specify a make and model tv to comment on exactly.

How can I turn off subtitles?

Subtitles are embedded in the medium, e.g., a "foreign" film with English subtitles. What you are seeing is closed captioning (CC) which is enabled/disabled either as part of initial set up or by pressing a key on your remote.

Trying to watch a foreign film with subtitles (DVD). The subtitles are getting cut off at the bottom of the screen. TV is on full screen format (not Zoom). We tried moving the picture up the screen, but...

First, try the "Aspect Ratio" button on the remote. If none of the settings remedy the problem, try accessing the menu of the DVD player to ensure that it is set to 16:9 aspect output.

Let me know if neither of these help.
