SOURCE: samsung model rs2577sl. fridge side not working

5 reasons for fridge and/or freezer getting warm: 1- the evaporator coils are icing up and won?t let air circulate. 2- the evaporator fan is not working to circulate air. 3- there is no refrigerant in the system. 4- no power to fridge or compressor. 5- the condenser coils have no air circulation check under the fridge behind the vent. if it is too dusty or the fan isn?t working, it is not getting enough airflow to cool down. replace fan and/or vacuum out the dust. if there is no power to the fridge, the light will be off. if the compressor is not running, there is a defrost timer that cuts the power temporarily to the compressor to melt ice on the coils. it?s located under the fridge behind the bottom vent. If the timer is off and the compressor is not going, the compressor or the main board is bad and needs replacing. there is also a temperature sensor on the evaporator coils that tells the defrost coil to turn on and when to turn off. if the defrost timer is on but the coil is not heating up, replace the sensor. if it still won?t heat up, it?s the timer or the coil. the easiest way to tell if there is no refrigerant- the freezer wall is warm and the compressor is loud. if there is no refrigerant, it may be more cost effective to replace the fridge. if you feel no air coming from the freezer vent, the fan needs replacing. If you feel air moving in the freezer but not the fridge, the channel from freezer to fridge is blocked. if the freezer has air and the rear freezer wall has frost on it, the evaporator coils are iced up and need defrosting. causes: 1. low refrigerant 2. no fan 3. too much humid air in fridge/freezer due to door open or bad door seals 4. the condensate drain tube is clogged if the seal around the door is ripped or not completely sealing, or there is condensation at the bottom or the walls of the fridge, replace the seal(s). no air, no fan. Replace if the refrigerant is low, it just needs a top off. but you need to be certified by the epa to move refrigerant, so get a professional. defrost solutions: unplug the fridge. remove the wall of the freezer that is frosted/icing up. use a hair dryer to melt the ice. do not get too close. you will see a drain under the evaporator coil. make sure it is not blocked. the water should run freely to a condensate pan under the fridge that evaporates the condensation with the hot line from the compressor. once the coil is free of ice, frost, and water, replace the panel and repair any of the problems that caused the icing up. plug the fridge in and turn it on. If it frosts up within a week, there is still an issue that not been taken care of.

The unit is on Heat, Fan Auto it's 36 degrees outside, Thermostate set on 73 Actual temp inside 70. Unit runs continuously. How can I get more heat. I tried Emergency heat and that doesn't help.

Have you cleaned the air return filters ? Wash them, don't vacuum or brush them. It damages the filter screen. Sometimes a thermostat will be out by a few degrees. If the filters are clean, try turning the temp down a bit to 65 degrees and see if the air con shuts down. ( If your room temp is showing 70, it should switch off the machine) If it doesn't turn off, keep reducing the temp by 5 degrees at a time and wait a few minutes each movement to see if and when it shuts down. If the machine keeps running, I would suggest your thermostat is shot and you will need a new one.

Trying to set temp on honeywell t-stat

I believe what your experiencing is the 75 degrees is the hold temp position...the display then reverts back to the actual room temperature...it doesn't mean the set temperature changed back to 65 degrees. Try to reprogram the thermostat schedules, and try not to use the hold function...just the temporary hold. (which is bumping the programmed temperature up or down until the next programmed period)

What temp should a/c be in 1995 chev on max

Hard to say.
Under normal conditions, vent temp should be about 20 or 25 degrees less than outside air temp.
So if outside air temp is 90 degrees and the engine is at idle speed, vent temp would be around 65 or 70. On the road the vent temp could be less than 60 degrees.
If outside air temp is 70 degrees vent temp will be around 40 - 50.

My a/c unit has a energy saver mode but the machine hasn't turned off at all for the past two days and our apartment doesn't even feel like the temperature it's set to be at which is 65...

I dont know what the temp is outside where you are ... but if you are asking for 65 that is a big request for a window unit. Typically, you can expect to get 20 degrees lower inside than outside ... 65? That is a lot to ask. It will not shut off until it gets to the requested temp.

2000 Maxima SE. When outside temp is over 65 degrees, A/C only works while car is moving, otherwise blows warm air.

First ,You will need to check that the condenser fan/rad fan, comes on when AC is selected, and is operating at proper speed. It sounds like it may not be.

Changed a/c evaperator and compressor, runs about 48 degrees temp goes up when you slow down cant find screen in high side line.

Is your cooling fan working properly? Usually when going down the road, it will cool better due to more airflow over the condensor. If your cooling fans are not working properly, this will add to the effect. Is it going to like 60-65 degrees at idle, or like 55 degrees? 60-65 is cooling fans, 55 most likely normal. Would have to see what your gauges are reading to let you know for sure. The orifice tube you are looking for is in the high side A/C line near the evap core. Look for a place where the line can be undone, with dimpling to hold the tube in place.

Cannot set heat setting by using "hold" feature

make sure it is not telling you room temp, some of the Honeywells, will display room temp over desired temp. check that, if it wont let you switch temp than buy a new one, if you dont have a heat pump a new cheap stat is around 20.00.
