When you cut the tv on it only play for about four hours then it cut off. Some time there is a picture and no sound and then there is sound and no picture.
Tihs is due to a failing power supply in the unit that has bad capcitors that will need to be replaced or replace the power supply unit itself.. You would need to go aftermarket for it because of the manufacture and the number of years it is but if you value this TV and want it to work for more years then it would be in your best interest to have it serviced.. I'm going to venture a guess that what might have happened is you changed the mode of recording. VCRs record in either short play, or long play, or even super long play. As the length of playtime goes up, the quality goes down, because for short play, a 6 hr tape will record only two, whereas a 12 hour tape will record four hours. More information is stored on the tape, so the quality of picture and sound increase, but a longer movie could be cut off. You can adjust the play-length with the sp/slp buttons on your remote control.
i have had this problem on one of my tv s all i did was remove the back of the tv and re-solder all the joints around the tuner (thats where the arieal goes) they go with time because the joints there get so hot . hope this helps

I have a 3 yr old 55 inch mitsubishi TV and when I turn it on the green light starts flashing and I must reset the TV about four times before it finally comes on has anyone had this problem if so what solution did you have?
It sounds like your rptv lamp is going out. If this is an older DLP this is most likely the cause. You can get a replacement at www.laptopsforless.com part number BP96-00224J for $151. If the tv is still under warranty, I would have them do it, otherwise replace it yourself. If so here is a link to give you step by step instruction. Please give me a good rating. ;-)
