SOURCE: black copies canon laser class 510 only when using

Are the copies solid black or black lines ? If there are black lines, try cleaning the **** glass under the ADF ( above the large glass ).

SOURCE: It senses paper loaded into the ADF but doesn't feed

There should be a button with settings on it.....ie: 2 sided, collate, etc. There should be an option to change paper settings.......or just clear the whole menu, and go to default to reset the rollers.

SOURCE: I want to scan documents

Funny. Actually, very funny. Why? Because it seems that my previous printer was fully functional, but i got a new and better one from Canon, because it had this problem, which seems to be just a false error. The error should say "Please select the paper size to scan from ADF". That's how i just fixed the problem when it appeared on this new device as well.

So the solution (at least for me) is to manually select the paper size to be scanned.

How do I copy a multi-page document on canon mx410?

Hi
You need to use the ADF (Automatic document Feeder) for this. The procedure is quite simple but would be very long winded to explain here. I have therefore found the manual for your printer here:
Canon PIXMA MX410
On this page, the first file is the one you want and on clicking Download - the big green button an executable file will be downloaded and stored on your computer. When the download is complete, locate the file and double click on it to install the manual on your desktop. Once installed double click on the icon and the manual will open. In the left hand window is an index. If you click on the + signs you will expand the contents making it much easier to find what you want. If you expand the Basic Guide you can go to the copying section to find out how to use the copier function and use the links on the various pages to go to Loading originals and this will explain how to copy multi-page documents.
Good Luck

Canon pixma mx410 document in adf has paper inside

The Alarm light was always on and the screen said "Document in ADF. When I pressed "OK" it would read "Eject the document". ..............................solution, Lift the cover to expose the flat bed scanner glass. Under the cover, there is a long white bar with two white tabs perpendicular to the white bar. One of the tabs was retracted. Pull on the tab until it is fully extended. The alarm turns off and there is no longer the error. Simple solution .....................................THIS WORKS!!!!!!!! thank you

Error message with canon mx410 "cannot scan from adf"

I fixed this by changing the Copy Intensity from Auto to Manual
I had the same paper jam (caused by pressing Stop during a page going into the ADF), but I had pressed OK as instructed and the page was auto fed back out again. Then I couldnt copy from ADF after that.
I tried everything, and then started to retrace my steps of all the things I might have tinkered with to try and get the copying working in the first place, before the paper jam.
Then I remembered I had set the Copy Intensity from Manual to Auto (thinking Auto is always best). With hindsight, it now makes sense for it to be manual with the ADF as otherwise how would it load a page, use it to set auto density, and then reload it again for the actual copy to occur. This happens okay on the flatbed scanner as it can scan a little, work out the settings, and then scan for real.
Copy Intensity is reached on my Canon MX from the Menu button at the bottom left of the front panel. - Then press the right arrow twice to get to Color Intensity. - Hit OK. - Then right arrow from "Auto" to "Manual Adjust"- Then pick a setting or leave it as half-way between light and dark- Press OK
Now every time my ADF copying works a treat. Thats what I get for tinkering in things I didn't need to change in the first place. I was just trying to get a quick copy going from ADF to paper without saving a file up on the computer and then printing.

Just trying to make some copies...the display on the printer says

The ADF is the "automatic Document Feeder" it thinks something is in there when there isn't. check to see if something is stuck in it that would cause it to "think" that.

Document in ADF

None of these worked for me. Here is my FIX:
Open the part containing the rollers. You can see a white plastic part which stop the documents feeded into the adf. Lower this part and insert a page into the adf just a bit further than where it would have stopped from that white stopper. This forces the machine to feed the document and clears the error right away. You only have to do this once and from then mine worked fine.
