MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format. You can download mp3 music files from the Internet to your computer and then copy them to your MP3 player using the USB cable. For your CD collection, you need to convert your CDs to mp3 music files onto your computer or download them from the Internet and then copy them to your MP3 player after you have connected the USB cable to the MP3 player and the computer. You can do this using Windows Media player and Rip the CDs - Media Player will create a MP3 music file for each music track. If your Itunes crashes on updating iphone or pod etc. uninstal the itunes software and the itunes drivers in programs uninstall, then restart pc/laptop. then install again from the itunes web page. don't worry you will not lose you backups or synchronized files. when installed don't put the ipod etc in yet go onto the itunes site on the software. when it comes up then put your ipod etc in the usb socket and it should work fine now.
You'll need a computer with Firewire, aka IEEE1394. These cables don't have an end that is specifically computer or VCR ends, but they have an A for Alpha and a B size. A style connectors are the larger ones shown in the picture below.
After the cable is connected you'll need an editing program on the computer. Windows computers can use Windows Movie Maker, Mac Can use iMovie. Once connected you'll use the capture feature to get the video onto the computer.
