HOW CAN I CLEAN BEHIND CONTROL PANEL TO REMOVE FATTY DEPOSITS ON THE BACK OF THE GLASS

The deposits can be a bit of a challenge as they re on the inner door glass and may be cooked on the glass. You must remove the door off the hinges first and then remove the inner door panel. It will be attached by screws. Once the inner panel is removed, you can remove the glass and clean it with a product called Goo Gone.

Try www.ovenlettering.co.uk. Mark the owner will find accurate decals of your cooker confirm it with you and send you two sets plus degreaser. Follow the simple steps from the sites video instructions and voila. It is so easy and I highly recommend Mark and his product. Tell him Shaun sent you.

Started the cleaning cycle, and cycle stopped with a beep. Power is still on. Error F5 E1. The door is now locked.

Press the self-clean button. The panel becomes blank(---), then press the up arrow( ^ ). The panel will appear 3:00 (indication for the duration of self-cleaning). The oven will lock on its own and start the self-cleaning.

This code means the control has detected a problem with the door latch switch. Switch is defective and needs replaced. Part # is W10107820 and cost is $39.99. You can get it at this LINK
Before calling a repair shop,go to the circuit breaker box and turn off the power to the oven. then turn it back on and then see if the door is released and the error is cleared.
its probaly bent door latch or door sensor gone bad. try pushing on the door when you start the clean cycle see if that helps.
if not our suggestion would be to replace the part....

Cleaned oven and now the fan will not quit and door is still locked has been over 2 1/2 hours since cleaning over.

the timer in the control panel is still regeristing heat! and when the sensor weakens with age it keeps the circuit closed till all heat is gone in the oven area~ to get the door open? unplug the oven or trun off the pwoer to it!! for 15 minutes then turn it back on and it will release you just need to replace the oven heat range sensor for the self cleaning cycle

Advise use of self clean feature on kenmore self clean oven 30''

If there is an up and down arrow on the control panel, you need to press the clean button first and then choose clean time with the up and down arrow. Be sure to remove the racks, if left in the oven they will be blackened by the extreme heat. Clean them separately with oven cleaner. Place them on newspaper and spray them.
