I have a building full of 427G lights with 12-15 that won't work, but appear to have good bulbs. What is the issue?

Florecent or the yellow HPS bulbs? If HPS you have a bad bulb, or bad ballast. May be similar issues if florecent.

How do i connect a ballast

Hello. Not sure what ballast you are looking for but I am guessing a Fluorescent light replacement ballast. Normally in a 2 tune balleast there are a BLACK and WHITE, These are Hot and Common. 2 Yellows go to the one end of the tubes. The 2 Blue wires go to the end of one of the tubes and the 2 red wires go the end of the other tube
Black to Black, White to White. 2 yellow to Tube 1 and 2 yellow to Tube 2. 2 Blue to Tube 1 and 2 Red to Tube 2.
Hope this helps..

I am replacing one of the two ancient ballasts in a four tube fixture that has four F96T12 75W tubes. How do I connect the two blue wires in the new ballast? The old fixture has only one blue wire per...

Hi,

I don't believe you have the correct ballast for your light. Your old ballast was the old iron ballasts they used to use. They still are available but you have to search around to find them.

Be sure to match the tube wattage, length and diameter as closely as possible.

Here is a website that has a good explanation of ballasts, the old iron ballasts and the newer rapid start ballasts: http://www.repairfaq.org/sam/flamp.htm#fb
Section II. deals with ballasts.

I hope this helps. If it does, I'd appreciate a 4 thumbs up. Thanks,

TV is making a buzzing noise coming from the back interior. We tried checking the cables and testing speakers, neither of which are the problem. Any thoughts?

Hello,
This noise is coming from the Lamp ballast. The back light of your TV (to make your LCD picture light up) is a Florecent Light Array. It is powered by a lamp ballast. You can have a shop change this power supply out for you.
Good luck!

I have sound but no picture

There is either one of two things,
1) your florescent lamp power supply has gone bad or
2) part of your power supply has gone bad
The only last thing is that one of the florecent back light tubes has taken out all the rest of the tubes.
Can you still see some type of image when you depress the menu button?

Changes it's own channels volume and source even

Try to cover the remote sensor on the tv,if this sorts the problem out then it could be florecent lighting that can cause this.

How to replace a tube holder or ballast

You can replace a ballast or tube holder if you're fairly familiar with wiring. 1) Turn off the power to the circuit. 2) Remove the tube and the cover plate that conceals the workings. 3) Disconnect or cut the wires to the tube holder or ballast and remove. 4) Strip 1/2" of insulation from the ends of the wires. 5) Mount the component and connect the wires with wire nuts. 6) Replace the cover and tube. 7) Turn the circuit back on. 8) Turn the switch on.
