Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.

SOURCE: Keyboard problem
You are probably typing it on word with a font that does not support those symbols. Open notepad and type the characters - your system should be working fine. (you can alternately try to use Arial font as an alternate)

SOURCE: Keys on keyboard
Try changing the language from English(US) to English(UK)
The Yanks have not only a different language - but also a different keyboard layout to us Brits :-)

Depending on the operating system, windows i presume then you need to set the correct input language for the keyboard. Text services and input language settings. Go to the control panel and select Region and Ianguage. From there you should be able to determine which particular input language corresponds with your keyboard. For more help send more info about your computer ok. Hope this helps.

The only time that I have this problem is when I've accidentally hit SHIFT and CTRL at the same time. Do it again and you should go back to your old way of typing characters.
