Question about Panasonic DVD-LS86 Portable DVD Player

Open Question

Panasonic DVD-LS86 Portable DVD Player won't charge

Hi, For a while now the red light has not come on when the charger is attached, but the unit still played DVDs (I assume off battery). Now it won't power on at all. Is it likely to be a battery problem, or are there any internal fuses on the unit to check? It doesn't power on with the battery removed and the power in, but I don't think I ever tried this when it was working so not sure if it is supposed to! The PSU itself is giving a steady 12v out, so I don't think that is at fault.

REGION FREE FOR PANASONIC LS86?

Apparently this DVD player can't be unlocked with its own remote, But you can still mod it yourself if you have a PDA or similar via sites like www.avforums.com , or you can rent the tools to do it from sites like www.multiregionupgrades.com.

I hope this helps!

CHARGING

Lulu1121 and guest, red means no charge and will remain red till its fully charge. Then it will turn to green. In fact, coby battery can be charge directly without the whole unit attached. But if on charge too long and still red, battery is dead, kaput, finish. some even show evidence when the casing is swollen...gel chemicals inside is swollen. The power supply that came with it is the only way you can use it...portability is out of the question.

Good Luck

Try a standard multi voltage charger. These come with a selection of connectors each one of a specific size and color coded. so you pick the connector to fit the input jack then set the charger to the appropriate color to give the correct voltage.
