hiiiiiii here shivam
i want to tell you that that same problem is occuring my computer but now it is fixed
but your problem is of tv don't worry is this is help full to you--
this problem is common on this model. your vertical output circuit has gone bad. but i am sorry to say that a repair cost is to much for a tv this age. a cost would range 100-150. i say invest this into a newer tv. this model was good for 10-12 years and you have got better than that.
good luck :)
let me know if you need more info?

No, the PS has nothing to do with that - the standby light blinks to signal an internal component failure and a bad source connection can't cause that. Since the light is steady at start it means that the power source starts normally but the process doesn't end correctly: the defect is located in either the mainboard (the processor has failed) or the inverter for the backlighting tubes has failed.
To identify which you will need to open the tv and test the voltages on the power source board starting with the output line for the inverter; after that the voltages for the mainboard - you will need at least a good multimeter and experience in electronics repair. If you don't have both then unplug the tv from the mains and call a repairman.

0ne of 3 has failed:
(in order of probability):
1. Backlight inverter
2. Power Supply
Please seek the expertise of an experienced TV repair technician - as they contain potentially lethal voltages that must be properly discharged before work can begin.
Thanks! ! ! !

This could be a faulty back light lamp.It is located right at the back of the screen It is an cold cathode lamp supplied by a high voltage from inverter board .Inverter board has a input voltage of 24 volts inverted into 300 volts AC this lamp lights up the screen...
You need to open the back cover to check the lamp.....

You have the classic symptoms of a power supply failure. Visual inspection of capacitors is not a reliable method of solving the problem
