Washer will not advance from wash to rinse

The washer will not advance from wash to rinse. Here is what I have done: I have removed the pump and hose to check for blockage. There is none. When the washer stopped between the wash and rinse cycle, I disconnected the electrical connection from the pump and plugged it into an outlet. The pump emptied the tub and then advanced to the rinse cycle. Any thoughts on why it is doing this?

SOURCE: Amana washer "goo" on clothes?

Ann, these Amana's are the mother of all washers to change out the seal and bearings. It's possible you just have a lot of gunk built up on the inside of the basket from years of washing. I would not put a cent into it. You are better off getting a new direct drive washer. Catriver...post back.

SOURCE: AMANA WASHER WILL LEAKS WATER IN TUB AFTER SPIN CYCLE.

Cylon, sounds like you need to replace the water inlet valve. It's not seating and weeping water. For series 10 the part number would be 40097701. Not that hard of a job. Catriver..post back.

Sounds like the water seal is damaged and the leaking water has damaged the top bearing which is just below the water seal. You will need to have the hub & seal kit replaced.

SOURCE: slow hot water fillup

THIS MIGHT HELP, DONT FORGET TO RATE ME THANKS

Slow-or-no-water-into-the-washer and flooding washer complaints just gotsta be in the top five most frequent appliance complaints I get. Thang about it is that it's just so gawd-awful simple to fix that I'm reluctant to give away the secret to this great cash cow. Yeah, I know, I shouldn't reveal this treasured trade secret that all appliance repair techs swear an oath to defend. What? You say you want me to tell you anydamnway? Well alright then.

Most of the time, your water flow complaints will be about either the cold or the hot water being restricted to near nothing. Sometimes, both the hot and cold water flow are restricted and the water just trickles in no matter where you got the temp control set at. Either way, 90% of the time, the problem is because of sediment built up on the inlet screen of the washer inlet valve.

watervalve.gifHere's a typical two-solenoid inlet valve. This is the most common, although some Whirlpool's use a three solenoid arrangement, but the diagnosis and correction are the same. Most of the time, what happens is that sediment builds up on the inlet screen of the solenoid valve and restricts the water flow into the valve.

Now, here's where you can benefit from my lifetime experience as a certified technical guru. There's something I call the "cute plumber's trick" where the unsuspecting appliance owner calls in one o' them real hairy, stinky plumbers to fix their washer. Well, Buttcrack Bubba correctly takes a look at the inlet valve and figgers he's being reeeel cute by just removing the inlet screen altogether. Most of the time, Buttcrack Bubba does this 'cause he ain't even got a washer valve on his truck so it's the difference between making something off the job 'cause he "fixed" it, or making next to nothing 'cause he didn't have the part and he'd have to come back to do the repair. Buttcrack Bubba's in, what we in the trade call, "the horns of an enema." Yessir, so he goes ahead and removes that screen. The customer don't know any better; heck, all he knows is that water's flowing to his washer again. It's a freakin' miracle!

What happens next, though, is a sad tale to tell. Y'see, after a while, the innards of the valve get so gunked up with sediment that the valve can no longer stop the flow of water when it's supposed to (like, when there's no power on it). You can see here that they's a whole buncha delicate leetle ***** parts in there, da, comrade? Little, itty-***** pieces of dirt and pipe scale can stick that plunger guide wide-ace open. So, water just keeps on flowing into the washer. Meanwhile, you're outside playing with the dog, or changing a poopy diaper, or...whatever. Point is, the washer floods on you and makes one helluva mess in your house. All cause o' that "cute plumber's trick." Now, how smart was that to call in a plumber to do an appliance tech's job?

Other times, problems with no water can be the pressure switch or a burned-out solenoid in the water valve. If there ain't much sediment on the inlet screen of the water valve, you gotsta measure the continuity of the solenoid coil at the terminals. If your meter says there's no ohms in the solenoid coil, that ****** is slap-open and it's gotta be replaced. That's the name o' that tune, Hoss.

Washer will not advane from wash to rinse

It sounds like, when the dial gets to the pump stage, the contact expected to pump the water out isn't making contact. That could be a burnt contact within the controller, or a loose wire to to the pump from that section of the controller. Once the weight, or water level was low enough from your pumping it out, the sensor that checks the level/pressure allowed the spin. The problem could be on the control board too.

Here's an incomplete schematic I found:

Programs don't advance. The machine seems stuck in each mode, it will fill and wash but doesn't advance through the programs. I have to switch off and manually advance the dial to rinse, spin, drain etc

Try moving your drain hose to a different height.t may need lower than you have it. My washer did the same , Drain hose needs to be higher than the pump that drains the washer.

hi Luis.
If the washer won't drain there might be a clogged pump or hose. It's common for small socks or other small clothing items to get into the water drain system and clog the hose leading to the pump or the pump itself. Remove the hoses from the pump in order to remove the article of clothing.
If the washer won't drain the pump belt might have broken or might have worn out. Check the belt and replace if it shows signs of excessive wear.
Drain Pump
If the washer won't drain water the drain pump might be defective. It's also common for a small sock or other article of clothing to get caught in the drain pump or in the drain hose. Check both for an obstruction before replacing the pump.
Other Causes and Conditions
Clogged Pump or Hose
If the washer won't drain there might be a clogged pump or hose. It's common for small socks or other small clothing items to get into the water drain system and clog the hose leading to the pump or the pump itself. Remove the hoses from the pump in order to remove the article of clothing. Keep in mind that any water in the washer will pour out of the hoses when removed.
Drive Belt
If the washer won't drain, should check the drive belt. If the belt is broken or if it isn't tight on the pulleys the washer won't drain properly, if at all.
Lid Switch Assembly
If the washer won't drain the lid switch assembly might be defective. This is a very common problem. The lid switch assembly can fail either mechanically or electrically. Test any electrical switches with an Ohm meter for continuity. The switches should have continuity according to their design.
Door Lock Motor and Switch Assembly
If the washer won't drain the door lock assembly should be checked. The door lock can fail either mechanically or electrically. Test any switches on the door lock with an Ohm meter. The switches should have continuity according to their design.
Drain Hose
If the washer won't drain water check the drain hose. Be sure the hose did not get kinked behind the washer. Also, remove the hose from the pump and check it for obstructions.
Coin Trap
If the washer won't drain the coin trap may be clogged. This washer is equipped with a device near the water pump called a coin trap. The purpose of this device is to trap any foreign materials that make their way down the drain. Normally, the coin trap can be accessed through an access panel. It is designed with the homeowner in mind and is normally easy to clean out.

Roper washer stops at rinse circle

Turn off your water to the washer.
Remove the hoses from the valve at the rear of the washer and clean the trash out of the filter screen.
You have a cold fill rinse washer.
If it can't get water it stops advancing the timer.

Kenmore front-load washer stops at rinse cycle

When the washer initially fills for the wash, is it only hot water entering the drum? Try switching the water temperature between hot and cold as it fills. If any of them show little or no water getting through, it sounds too easy but check to make sure water supply taps are on, and that the cold/hot fill hoses aren't reversed. Remove the fill hoses and check any of the screen filters for blockage (in the hoses and in the inlet water valve). When the machine stops and waits to fill but all you hear is a hum, it sounds like there is power going to the valve but water is not able to get through it.
Good luck!

Front loading washer does not advance past the rince cycle

Check and clean filter, it is usually located behind a plastic panel at the bottom front of the washer, remove cover and unscrew the filter cover anti clockwise, pull out and clean, replace and test, if it still does not drain, then possibly pump blocked or faulty.
Plz rate my solution.
Thanks.
