Re: where is Linux mbr file

There's nothing like the Linux MBR File. The option to boot to multiple operating systems is controlled by a software called as the "Boot-Loader".
Windows XP and Linux both have their versions of boot-loaders. The Bootloader that Windows XP uses is called the NTLDR, whereas Linux provides many bootloaders (prominent among them being "Grub" and "LILO").

>but Linux is shown in the manage option from the My Computer in Win XP 2.....
That is the control section of NTLDR. So from what I understand you shouldn't have a problem selecting the operating systems.

If you want the Linux bootloader taking control of the boot process, you can always install it.
All you need is a Linux CD and then run the setup for "Grub" or "LILO".

Information about installing Grub or LILO can be found easily on the internet.

I have downloaded Ubuntu Linux 12.04 and am running it under wondows xp sp1. How can I delete windows and just run Ubuntu ?

Here is what you need to do:

1. Open 'GParted'. From the menus: System -> Administration -> GParted
2. Right click on the ntfs partition and select 'delete'
3. Right click on this deleted partition and select 'Format to' and select ext3. This should accomplish what you want.

If GParted is not installed, then open a terminal window and type

sudo apt-get install gparted
And then proceed with steps 1-3 specified above.

PS: Backup any data you need from the WinXP partition before you do this.Alternately, instead of formatting the XP partition to ext3, you could do this:
Using gparted, as described above:
Right click the XP partition and click delete.
Right click the Ubuntu partition and click resize
In the resize dialogue, change the settings to that it is as big as possible.
Click apply changes.

This is riskyer, so BACK UP EVERYTHING!!!!!! I do not take responsibility for lost data.
This however will be closer to "unpartitioning" the drive, what was suggested above will still result in it being split into two partitions, they will just both be linux partitions.

I can not understand the tipe of my usb and that's why i dont know where i can find drivers from

If you are using OS like Windows XP SP2, Vista, or Win 7, the USB 2.0 ports are not a problem.

You need to install USB drivers if you are using Win9X series OS.

If you are using Open Source Operating System like Linux, DOS, etc...., you have to install the USB drivers from Motherboard manufacturers Sites or your USB hardware manufacturers Sites.

What is name for linux MBR file

The MBR is not a file. It is a sector of the hard drive that contains information the computer uses to boot up. Most linux distributions use a program called GRUB to edit the MBR.
