Just stopped working...new batteries...checked channels..
We have a closed circuit tv system. I purchased 3 sets of the Sony Wireless Microphone System WCS 999. We use two cameras. For no apparent reason- two sets just stopped working. They were all set for different channels and the batteries were fresh. Any advice?

Check whether the balance control is settings. Go to the audio menu to both TV and DVD player; and make sure that it is set to Centre position; to both the devices. Still there is no audio with one channel, check it with an other know good disc. Still you can't get sound from one channel, the audio output section to the TV circuit should be checked. Contact any service technician.
Check the speaker/s first. If found OK; check and replace the damaged component/s at its audio output section circuit board. If needy, replace this board as card basis. You've obviously checked battery strength, battery connection and volume settings for the dead mic...does the green transmit (RF) LED light when you turn the mic on? Does the red audio (AF) LED light when you talk into the mic? Best solution....buy a better quality wireless system ($85 wireless?!? ...no thanks).
I know you can that you can change this by simply hooking up a scan tool for specific year. There are language options accessible for situations like this. Here is a sample of what can be changed using VAG 5052 or equivalent scanners.

Adaptation Channel 001: Tire Circumference
The tire circumference is beeing adapted in "mm".
Channel 002: Wheel Pulse The wheel pulse describes the amount of wheel pulses per revolution. If value 0 is entered the system calibrates automatically itself after several kilometers and inputs a value.

are you sure that the channel your tv is on matches the name on the inputs where you plugged the component cables in? Channel surf-maybe start at 2 and go down and that is where those input channels should be.
When the led blinks twice it is telling you that the remote accepts the code, but that does not mean the tv accepts the code. If the tv does not power on after programming the new code then you must try the next code in the sequence, until you find one that powers on or off the tv.
The GE (actually RCA) 35GT690 uses the CTC187 series chassis. The tuner uses the VHF circuits for cable channels lower then 51 and the UHF circuits for the higher channels. This means that the VHF circuits have stopped working in your set. I usually find that this is caused by a defective U7301 IC in the tuner, the SIP IC labeled CXA1594L. This is a very difficult IC to change and all tuner ground solder joints should be resoldered too, so that should be done by someone with experience in the CTC187 chassis.
