Get a hairpin out of my dyson DC24? It is stuck and making a rattling noise. Thanks.

Hi Sue, it's Jack at Dyson.

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulty with your DC24 - it would be helpful to understand where in the machine you think the hairpin may be stuck?

Dyson DC25 Agitator rattling

Hi Adnan, it's Jack at Dyson.

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulty with your DC25's brush bar. I would encourage you to follow the steps shown in the video attached to ensure there is nothing in the cleaner head jamming the brush bar, and no threads or hair wrapped around the brush bar itself. Make sure the endcap is also fitted correctly and locked into position - a coin can be used to lock the catch.

For any further advice after you've given this a try, please contact our experts directly by calling the Dyson Customer Helpline on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), or 1-877-397-6622 (CA). If a repair or replacement part is needed, we'll be able to confirm if this is covered under your machine's 5-year guarantee.

Best wishes,

Agitator Rattling

There are no washers of any sort on the Dyson's agitators. There are molded caps on each end, made to fit into the bracketry on the sides of the nozzle portion. If there's it seems as though there's something missing then you'll need to purchase a complete agitator, there are no replacement parts for agitators.

My Dyson CDC14 Animal just started making a wierd sound coming from the rotating brush area. I already cleaned around the brush, sounds like a fast rattling sound.

Something could be jammed, or not rotating freely, maybe an improper alignment with the brushes, or a blocakage within them. Try to re adjust the brushes :)

Beater bar has been rattling when running the vacuum. Stopped working all together today while vacuuming.

Hi The rattling sound is permanent and is supposed to alert the owner that the drive belt/clutch has come undone. Sadly it also means an official repair as the Animal has a protected belt that can't be repaired by the owner.

I ran over a shoe lace and now it is making a loud rattling noise

The All Floors model has a protective belt clutch system and the rattling sound means the clutch has slipped. This would have to be repaired officially by a Dyson repairer.
