The convergence issue can be usually repaired by replaceing both of the STK392-110 Convergence amps and the six 1.2 ohm 2 watt resistors. You can get replacement parts at the following link with instructions on how to replace the ICs.

My color focus is all outta wack. maybe its the a convergence problem?

depends on exact model number but a kit (someone like TV parts .com) sell a kit for this---individual parts are usually cheaper but some real soldering etc is involved as set uses two chips if it is a older rear projection set and does NOT use a lamp but has 3 picture tubes.

DVD player seems to have problem starting. The electric eye is travelling back and forth but it says "bad disc" to all my movies now? The movies work in another machine?

Hi there! Seems like a bad laser (eye). It is trying to read the disc but not able to focus properly. Depending on what you paid for the unit, it might be better to buy a new one. The cheapies last maximum 3 years. If you would like to try replacing the white flexible cable first it may save you a bit of money. Remove it carefully without touching the laser(eye) and go to your local repairer who can order it for you. You can try cleaning the laser (eye) with a bit of surgical alcohol and ear bud. Do not apply too much pressure on the eye as this can result in permanent damage. NOTE: The laser emmits invisible radiation which can cause blindness if exposed to for too long. So please do not look into the laser(eye) when operating. Best Wishes and Good Luck. JUS004

Will Nikon D300 focus with the 11 point AF11 setting?

You may want to consider fine tuning the lenses. I understand that you want the shallow depth of field, but the lens is sharpest at the middle f stops. What is the comparison between a stationary object like an apple or grape (something with a circular shape). I understand you have a higher shutter speed, but the small movements of a person could cause variances in a single focus mode. Are you using the half-shutter press for focus or the AF-E button? Tripod? Remote shutter release?

I asked about the distance relative to the lens length because the DOF can really change based on this. I have found this recently with my macro work so I wanted to find out if you have experimented with this or fired a bunch of shots at a single setup.

Setting color and focus inside case

The only way to do that is by eye. To Adjust the screen controls the best thing to do is turn them all down then slowly adjust one up until you get retrace lines (arched lines across the tv) then turn it down until the lines re not visible then go about 1/4 turn more, repeat this for the 2 remaining colors, after that its just done to eye for the best color. if you are still having trouble getting the color right you can go in the menu to the video settings and turn the color all the way down then you will have a black and white picture and you can adjust for a perfect black and white picture then turn the color back up in the menu.
As for the focus controls its best done by covering 2 of the tubes so you only have one color on the screen then adjusting to the best looking focus for that color. then repeat this for the other 2 tubes.
If you need more help or clarification please let me know

Reducing voltage for Sony KP-51HW40

G2 = screen...On the screen controls behind the front grill, behind the hardboard. 6 pots, 2 rows of 3 pots. 3 for focus and 3 for screens. 1 for each of the the red, green and blue guns/crts.
To adjust: Run set, change to black screen with tv/video button. Dial each screen clockwise untill you see a color. Then counterclockwise slowly untill that color goes black, then stop. Do this for all 3 screen controls.
If you need to adjust the focus then bring up lettering. I use the QVC channel for this. Focus is done by eye.

Picture Looks Like a 3-d Movie

This is bad convergence. Try self focus and if still not ok is hardware problem. The STK are leaked and need to be replaced. It's not easy, you have to remove the all deflection board and for sure you'll have some resistors to replace too. I sugest you to call a tech, but first try the self focus.

DOWN HILL???

It only true is its like one color that is twisted. Remember there is 3 tubes in a projo. Red, Blue, Green. So if a yolk needs turning and the color is not badly out of wack then that makes it that all colors are out and it is hardly likely that all three are turned the very same way(misconscrewed) So this maybe an internal matter. In service menu there maybe a way to align the convergence or crosshatch of all three colors or maybe a resistor that has changed in value. Either way you need someone familiar with the set to work on it.

Convergence

Remove the back containing the mirror and look into the projection lenses either at low brightness or with the tv turned off using a flashlight. Look for the fluid posibly being murky (should be clear). If this is the case, to replace the fluid: 1. Unplug the TV. 2. Remove the Picture Tube with Lens Assembly that has bad fluid 3. Find the drain plug 4. Drain the fluid in the sink. 5. Take a picture from all angles to review later. 6. Dissassemble the fluid chamber from the picture tube and clean the front glass and chamber. 7. Reassemble and fill chamber with mineral oil (laxitive found in a drug store). 8. Repeat the proceedure until all three CRT images are clear. 9. Use the centering magnets located above the CRT PCB's to get the convergence in the center. 10. Use the convergence proceedure from the tv menu to complete.

Toshiba 61h70 Picture Problems Hello, I have a Toshiba 61h70 TheaterView HD Projection TV, and was recently having some slight convergence issues (red was out of alignment and could not be adjusted). So I researched and found that the IC?s (STK392-110) needed to be replaced. I initially purchased them on eBay, to later find out that they were cheap clones and did not work (they made the convergence worse, actually). I then purchased 100% Sanyo IC?s from a reputable dealer and replaced the IC?s again. Once finished, I then entered the service menu and adjusted the convergence alignment. Once the alignment was perfect, I hooked back up the TV antenna, the DVD player (composite), and the S-video from my computer. The convergence is fine, but now I?m having a totally different issue ? the video is ?scrolling?. The menus will show up fine, however any incoming video inputs will show up okay for a split-second, but will then flash and the picture starts to scroll in different directions. This happens with any of the video inputs. I checked and changed all the service menu items to factory defaults, however this had no effect. I have pasted a link below to a short video that illustrates the issue that I?m having. Please note that the video starts off with a black screen, showing the ?input? menu, and then I selected the ?TV input? and changed the channels. You will see the picture fine for a moment when the channel is first changed, but then the picture will start to scroll. Any ideas of what would be causing this? And how can I correct the issue? I?m not a TV repair expert, so I?m not even sure where to start. Any help would be greatly appreciated. http://s75.photobucket.com/albums/i303/hybrydmike/?action=view₪t=TV_Troubles.flv
