I need to restore my program in order to be to set my internet.

I bought a used laptop from a co-worker. When I went to put internet on it my laptop informed me the I was making an illegal transaction. That I needed to run a system check or a scandisk to repair the problem.I tried that and the problem remains.

Oh my... Steep learning curve here... No mention of which windows, what laptop or anything... Hmmmmmm...
The LEAST you will need is the install cd for that version of Windows, and a collection of drivers for THAT laptop, from its manufacturer.. So youll need the help of a friend with internet and a cd burner..
Or perhaps it is something small... try writing down the EXACT wording of the error message and searching on Google for it.. At a friend's place, or the library, or..

How do i reset my lenovo t410 to factory settings?

Read the manual and it will tell you the process.

Get online and got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "IBM Support" or "Lenovo" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operating system when requested. Look for Manuals and search them for Factory Restore or System Recovery.

Why not consider another option?

System Restore will allow you to select a Restore Point (date and time) to set your system back to when it was working ok. It does not delete any of your data, documents, music, pictures, videos or programs (unless the program was installed after the Restore Date you selected).

System Recovery (sometimes referred to as Factory Restore) will set your system back to when you first purchased it. It Deletes Everything. Most times the System Recovery does not work unless there is a recovery partition on your hard drive created by the manufacturer. If you are trying to recover from a set of cd's most times it does not work.

Instead of doing a System Recovery it's much easier to just Reinstall Windows. Look on your computer for the Certificate of Authentication (COA) Sticker. It will tell you what operating system is on your computer and it will give you the Product Key Code (a series of 5 letters and numbers) that you will need to activate windows. If you don't have an operating system disk, borrow one from a neighbor, friend, relative or co-worker. Just make sure it is the same as your COA Sticker's operating system or it will never activate. Also make sure you get the COA Product Key Code for the disk you borrow because sometimes the system will ask for the one that is on your system and sometimes it will ask for the one from the installation disk.

My laptop desperately needs to be formatted, BUT I don't have the disks for Windows or Photoshop since I bought it from an old co-worker and they didn't include the disks. Is there a way to wipe everything...

Does the laptop give you the option to create recovery cds or dvds? If so, do that FIRST. This will give you the ability to restore the notebook back to factory defaults (everything created afterwards will be destroyed). Next, back up any data you want to keep (pictures, music, documents, etc.). Portable hard drives are incredibly cheap (a certain department store carries 250 gb drives for $60). There are programs that can retrieve your serial codes for your programs (Belarc Advisor). Acquire a copy of your programs after you get your serials. If this seems too complicated, youll need to head to your local computer repair shop. MAKE IT CLEAR TO THE SHOP YOU HAVE DATA YOU CAN'T AFFORD TO LOSE!!! Many shops have disclaimers about copying data and are not responsible if anything goes wrong. Some places will charge a lot to rescue your data. Shop around.

If your company has it lock down so you can't do many administrative tasks, you may want to try this. http://www.user-guides.co.uk/cddownload/IBM/IBMThinkPad/IBM-ThinkPad-R50e-XP-Driver-CD-Recovery-Restore-Disk-109132.html

HP laptop zv5000 will not boot.

The "Bootmgr is Missing" is basically telling you the Partition/s have either become Corrupt or Deleted. If you have more then 2 hard drives, check in the bios to see which one is set as master/slave, and also check the Boot Sequence order. Doubt whether re-seating the memory will do any good, as you would not evem get the Bootmgr is missing error if the Memory was unseated, You just need a clean install of windows put back on there.
