Check your thermostats, all of them. There is a video here that shows you how. You can get any multy-meter or ohm-meter. The multy-meter you set to any ohm setting. When you check the thermostat if nothing happens, the numbers stay in zerro you have a bad thermostat. Is that simple.

My maytag neptune dryer doesn't blow any hot air

on top of the heating element on the left side there is a white 2connector part, that is the heater thermal fuse. disconnect the dryer power cord and one wire of the thermal fuse and use a meter to find out if you have continuity to it. if not replace it. also check for burn wires at heating element. also test heating element by disconnecting one wire and using an ohm meter test it at 2 therminals. it shoul measure 10-12 ohms.

Electric dryer model # 110.68422700 type:dwjr-ele-2406028-fm54. Heater not working. I am an electrician so when i get my meter I will check points. Just sort of wondering what to check and where? Also just...

take the back off the heating element will be on the right side as you face the back of the dryer inside a metal container. The heating element is resistor wire. The other part that commonly goes bad is a thermal fuse it will be connected to the heating element but mounted on the back of the dryer near the bottom center right. The fuse should show continuity so should the heating element. Elements sometimes ck good but if you shake them the wire will seperate.

My Simpson Esprit oven is not supplying power to the heating element. The fan and light run normally but no heat. Do these ovens have an internal fuse for the element? I checked the element for continuity...

Check to make sure that there is 120 volts from each oven wire seperately. Together they should be putting 240 volts to the oven unit. Do you have a fuse box instead of breakers in your home? It could be that one of the two fuses is bad. The oven needs two legs of 120 volts to heat up. Usually there is no internal fuse on a stove, just on clothes dryers.

My maytag neptune dryer is not heating and drying clothes

Hi,
  • Check to see whether there's power getting to the dryer. Is it plugged in? Check for blown fuses or tripped circuit breakers--your dryer uses two fuses or circuit breakers. The dryer could tumble but not heat if only one of the two fuses is blown. If you have circuit breakers, one of the two circuit breakers can trip, even if the two for the dryer are connected.

  • Often a dryer heating element burns out, but doesn't trip the circuit breaker or blow a fuse. The heating element is simply a long coil of special wire. You can check it for continuity with an ohm meter. No continuity means the element is bad and you need to replace it--electric heating elements aren't repairable.

  • A common problem is for the main wiring connection from the house, at the dryer, to burn and break its connection. Because the dryer can still tumble with partial power, the connection may be only partially defective. You may need to replace both the power cord to the dryer and the terminal block inside the dryer that the wire is attached to.
You can take your unit to nearby service centre if you find all the above are working fine.

Are you talking about the element you where looking into the element shroud and that is what you saw? If so your element is gone you can buy a complete element at your local parts depot. The element is fused on to the shroud makeing a dead short. Hope i fixya :)

I have a ALE643RB Amana dryer and believe the heating element has went out because the dryer will not heat anymore. I have taken the control panel off the top and all the screws out on the back and the bottom edge, but am still not able to get the shell off the dryer. How do you get to the heating element?

Maytag Atlantis dryer no heat

The heating element and thermostat are located behind the front panel of the dryer. you will need to remove the door, then the retaining screws. the heater / element is located on the left side as you are facing the front of the dryer and has to sheet meta screws (upper back top / and front bottom) which will need to be removed. the unit has several colored wires for the thermostat and switch. remove these (remember which goes where) and the enitre unit will come out easily.
