SOURCE: Samsung LTP326w

After few years of service with different TV providers I have problem with my TV. Last night my Samsung LTP326W just did the same think on HDMI connector and no mater what you do it will not turn HDMI video... it's connected to Verizon/Motorola DVR I called Verizon and they promptly replace DVR and HDMI cable but it didn't help at all, also sometimes when you power on/off I get message: The HD Content Protection of your display has been compromised Please use the YPBPR outputs for your HD connection...

When I switch to component cable it works just fine.

SOURCE: fujitsu/siemens scenicview e-19-1 model 900p

Please excuse me posting this as a 'solution', which I rather think demands one knows what was wrong in the first place! Anyhow, I have fixed my problem with this monitor. As previously mentioned cutting JP13 didn't restore the blank display. BTW: JP13 is on the component side of the first power supply printed circuit board (PCB), its under the steel plate in the back of the monitor case, remove both plate and board mounting screws to get at it. But responding to someones previous suggestion, I went about replacing all electrolytic capacitors (caps) on this board, did this rather than just replace C10/C11 as its a bit of a fiddle to open/reclose the monitor case and I'd already done it twice by this stage and wanted to limit possible damage to cables/connectors etc by repeated dismantling of case. ANYHOW! result is that monitor is fixed (so far!), had it on soak for a week and am using it right now, so hopefully it will stay that way. Its fairly easy job to do if you have some PCB soldering experience, you'll need a small iron and a 'solder remover/******' (when removing old caps). Recommend you look at www.badcaps.net/forum for info on the capacitor values you'll need. I used recommended good quality capacitors - Nichicon and Panasonic. If anyone is interested I'll post the list of values I used but its pretty easy to extract the old caps and get the values from them. Hope this is of help, regards Phil

Hi ,

Picture keeps blacking out. Sound is ok. Removed back and removed power supply board and tested capacitors. All capacitors seemed to be ok. Is if possible that all capacitors are ok and I still need to...

Seems as if you back light strips are malfunctioning or your power supply board is kaput. See:

Monitor goes blank, turn power off and back on, screen pops up for a few seconds and goes blank

If you are going to DIY and have proper tools and know safety precaution then please read on:
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply (they should be replaced in a set), blown fuses; poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed SAMSUNG monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
