There is not a subwoofer input jack on the back of this subwoofer. There are a set of input (negative and positive) terminals and a set of output (negative positive) terminals like would hook speaker wires...

On the back of the sub woofer you have two sets of binding post / some have spring clip terminals ( red & black ) labeled Speaker In ( sometimes High Level In ) and Speaker out.
Take 2 pairs of speaker cables and connect one end to the speaker out socket of your amplifier ( left & right ) . The other end of the cable should be connected to the sub woofer's Speaker In socket , Red to red and black to black. Now on the Speaker Out socket of the sub woofer connect your existing pair of speakers using another pair of speaker cables. If your sub woofer has a Hi Pass filter built in , you may not hear bass coming from your existing speakers with this kind of connection. Good if you have small satellite speakers.

Yamaha rx-v2500 receiver how to hook up speakers

HI,

Follow these steps to connect a powered sub woofer to your receiver: You typically have two options when connecting a powered sub woofer. Input (1) on the rear of the sub woofer would be used when connecting the sub woofer to the receiver using speaker wires. You would then connect the main speakers to the opposite end, or output or the sub woofer to the main speakers. Option (2) would be using RCA line level output jacks, input (2) on the rear panel of the sub woofer directly to the single sub woofer output on the back of an AV receiver. blank.gif

My Onkyo sub-woofer sounds like something is loose in it or rolling around...the sound is similar to shaking a can of spray paint. When I plug it in to the system it sounds crackly. If i turn the volume...

sub woofers are very powerful bass , with incredible sounding technology. your problem might be with the woofer wall around the circle. open the box and take the woofer out.Check if there is any tare over the corners of the cloth. sometimes there might be a crazy noise because of a little opening in the cloth caused by small tare.. if so better change it with a new 1 and make sure that the new cloth has guaranty

I Do Not Know How To Connect Boston Micromedia To My Computer

The Boston Micromedia speaker set comes with two speakers (right and left),a subwoofer, and a complete set of cables to connect everything up.

1.) Position the speakers. The two small speakers typically are spaced equal distance apart on a desk/table top to the benefit of the listener. The sub-woofer typically rests under the surface, on the floor for example.

.) Connect the cable sets to the back of the two small speakers along with the speaker feet.
Note: the small speaker with the volume control knob will have three cables coming from it. This will be the "right" speaker. The other speaker will have a single cable and will be the "left" speaker.

2.) The cable ends will be color coded to match the jackson the sub-woofer. Match up the color coded cables to the respective colors on the subwoofer as follows:

(a) White cable end (left speaker) to white jack on sub-woofer.
(b) Red cable end (right speaker) to red jack
(c) Purple cable end (input) to the purple jack
(d) Green cable end (computer out) to the computer's microphone output jack.

Note: if any of the cables are too short to reach their jacks for whatever reason, an extender cable with a female and male end can be purchased relatively inexpensively to make up the difference in distance.

3.) Power up the system (plug in power cables to the sub-woofer and wall), play some music, and adjust the sub-woofer sound (control knob) to suit listening pleasure.

A nice little set of speakers, I had mine for some years now and continue to enjoy them. Good luck!

alot of times its not just the amp that gives you better sounding bass.. A lot has a to do with a few other factors as well.. first off your subwoofer.. the bigger the subwoofer the deeper the bass. Some woofers exturde, or flex differently depending on the quality and structure of the woofer.. 2nd is gonna be the sub box. different size boxes will give your sub diff. depths of bass. ... general idea is the bigger the box deeper the bass. But if your woofer is not supplied enough power a big box is useless.   With that size amp your best bet is too run a single woofer. Probably a 10inch woofer would sound the best.. but it in.75cub inch. sealed box.. should sound great.

Either the amp for the sub is bad, or the sub woofer speaker is bad. If you checked the fuses, you must know how to get the amp out of the sub woofer box (screws in the bottom of box and around the metal plate of the box). Take it out again and check the wires that go to the sub woofer. It is the red and white wires if I remember correctly. They come from the box and plug into the amp board with a white plastic connector. Or you can check the wires right at the speaker. The cover for the speaker comes off with about 4 phillips screws and then take the speaker out with the screw driver as well.Use an ohm meter and check the ohms on the speaker at those wires after you dis-connect them from the board. That woofer should measure between 3 and 6 ohms to still be good. If it measures less than 3 ohms or more than 6 ohms, it is probably bad and will need to be replaced.

Here is the JVC part number for that woofer.

CR250006-01

Be prepared, the cost is ridiculous. $110.16 at JVC's service site.

http://www.jvcservice.com/Service/JPartInq.asp?PgReq=DspDta&PrtNbr=CR250006-01

Or you could just find one that fits properly and use it instead. They are not the best woofer around and are very over-priced.

I hope this helps, if so a FixYa! rating would be very much appreciated. After all, it is the only reward we get for offering free help to people like yourself.

Sub-woofer Malfunction

sub can be detecting signal from your amp. maybe your amp has some small output when in standby mode. some amps throughput signal from satellite boxes when they are supposed to be off.
try shutting off that signal source as well.
good luck
