Question about Garmin GPS 72 GPS Receiver
New software is out 2.50 will fix problem with waas.

Contacted Garmin Tech Support and they verified the problem with the WAAS. They said the engineers were looking at the problem. Estimated the fix would be ready in 2 to 3 months. I turned the unit on inside where the unit could not receive any satellites then disabled the WAAS and the unit works without problems. It is just not as accurate.

The freeze and the line (blueish in my case) is, per Garmin, caused by the incompatibillity of the WAAS software with the signal generated by the satellites. Sounds like the DOD made some changes and Garmin has not patched THEIR software to work with the new situation.

I emailed Garmin. There is a problem with the software when using WAAS. Until they release a software update, you need to disable WAAS.

Same thing. Page blanks after a few minutes of use, single vertical black line. Have to re-install batteries to reset. Several times this happened, I was using the zoom feature. Now I try not to zoom.
