Question about Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate Edition

Italcized Fonts for Windows Vista Home Premium

This happened when I uninstalled Left 4 Dead yesterday. When the uninstaller detected some files that couldn't be deleted, I force deleted the remaining files. I didnt get a good look at the files, but I do know that they were "fonts" files. After deleting them, and running CCleaner to shred the files, I saw everything like YM, Special Force, Firefox and many other's fonts to be italicized. I tried running multiple virus scans but still to no avail.

I hope one of your gurus here can help me with my problem.
Your help is very much appreciated.

First maybe try sytem restore to the day before you did this. This may reset your settings.
Let me know if this works.

couple of things to try:
1. try to start your windows in safe mode and attempt to uninstall from there. 2. use the following info to attempt to uninstallation as per ms recommendation. 3. there was a nice little tool from ms called the Windows Installer Cleanup utility but was discontinued, I have used that tool to uninstall some programs on xp that I was having problems uninstalling and worked perfectly when other uninstallers failed. you can try to google it and use it as there are some sites that may still host the file for download although, keep in mind that the solution 2 is what ms is currently recommending so it may not work in vista if you get it.
hope this helps!

Toshiba Satellite ?Vista home?Start button not working

> clicking on START has no response.

Have you tried a different mouse, just in case that the LEFT button on the mouse is malfunctioning?

Does pressing the "Windows-flag" key on your keyboard (between CTRL and ALT, on the left) cause the same effect as clicking the START button?

Start Internet Explorer.
Click Tools.
Click Internet Options.
Click Connections
Check that your PPoE entry is present and is set to "automatic".

My Acer aspire x3200 Home Premium will not let me upgrade to windows 7 home premium.Installation failed.

Sometimes you're better off to uninstall the old OS, and then install the upgrade. If you have files to save, store them on removable media, then format the drive, then install the upgrade. During the process, it will ask for the VISTA product key, and the windows 7 product key

Hi,

Workaround
To work around this issue, uninstall the August 2009 Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 Application Compatibility Update, and then install Service Pack 2 for Windows Server 2008 and Windows Vista. To uninstall the August 2009 Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 Application Compatibility Update, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Click Uninstall a program under the Programs section.
  3. In the Tasks list in the left navigation area, click View installed updates.
  4. Click Update for Microsoft Windows (KB972036), and then click Uninstall.
  5. Click Yes when you are prompted to confirm the uninstallation.

Note If you are prompted for confirmation or for the administrator password, click Yes to confirm, or type the administrator password.
  6. Restart the system when you are prompted.

If this helped you then please help me and vote kindly, thank you.

My Vista PC stopped seeing my SD, CF, etc. drives. It still sees my blueray. All are built in. This happened before and I fixed it by downloading new drivers from MS, but I can't find the drivers now.

I would try uninstalling the device(s) using Device Manager and immediately rebooting the PC. Upon reboot, Vista will detect the hardware and install all their drivers.
Good luck!
