I disconnected my printer from the pc, now I cant get the printer to work again. I get printer is not responding. I downloaded from on online the software, it still does not respond. What else do I need to be aware of.

This is mostly caused by a problem with the computers drivers / software.

First open printers and faxes

  1. click start
  2. select printers and faxes, if you don't see it there, then click on control panel
  3. on control panel, on the left side click on classic view. you can skip this step if you already see all the icons
  4. open printers and faxes or just printers
  5. right click on your printer and select delete
  6. repeat the step 5 if you have the printer more than ones.
Uninstall the current drivers and software

  1. click start
  2. click control panel
  3. double click add or remove programs
  4. find epson drivers and other epson products and click on uninstall
  5. close the add or remove programs when you have removed all the epson related software.

unplug the printer from your computer.

restart the computer, and use the cd that came with the printer or download the drivers and software from the makers website or if you already have them then use them


Plug in the printer when asked or when drivers and software is installed, You may need to restart the computer.

The printer should print normally from the computer again.

Turn the printer off and on.
Try disconnecting the printer completely from power and from PC and re-connect again.

My Lexmark x4850 has stopped prin?t the computer. What is wrongting . Sometimes it will print when I restar


A quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by resetting the printer and/or rebooting the PC. Simply disconnect the printer from your computer. Reboot your pc. Unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to your computer. Then try to print again once the computer fully recognizes the USB connection.


If that doesn't help, try the steps below:

1. Disconnect the printer from your computer.

2. Re-brick your printer. Pull out the power supply, black box where the power cord is plugged in at the back of the printer, and put it back after 30 seconds.

2. On your computer, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes.

3. Delete the Lexmark print object.

4. Reboot your pc.

5. When your pc turns on, reconnect the printer.

6. Wait until your pc fully recognizes the USB connection. To check, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes. If you see a new Lexmark print object in the list, then try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.


You may also try to update your printer driver by visiting the Lexmark website at http://bit.ly/lY7NTO. Select your operating system, download and execute the file. After the install process, try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.

Cant use my printer, i dont have my driver anymore, due to computer virus, i have to reformat my desktop and i need to install again my printer


If you purchased the printer new you probably got an installation CD. Load your CD and follow prompts. If not you may be able to find your model online and download software.

Printer communication error


check the network cable... disconnect the network cable and ping the copier... if you can get the copier IP address to respond... then you have an IP conflict... if you plug the network cable back in... turn the copier off and on and still cann't print from any pc... then reset the copier... if you still cannt print from any pc then you need to try changing the IP address... and try again... still doesn't work... change the network cable and try again... still doesn't work... plug a laptop into the network cable and ping the laptop... if the laptop works... the print card is bad...

Printer is offline and will not respond with i use control pan/printer/use printer online


check the connection ....if its not working reinstall the printer driver .... ...you can try this ...open printer and faxses ....right click on the printer there u can find a options like use printer online.......

Cant load my printer


Go to the Printers and Faxes window to see if any printers are installed. If there are no printer icons then disconnect the printer, use the installation cd for the printer then connect the printer and you should get a "New hardware found" message. Then it should automatically load the drivers.
If there is a printer icon already then right click on it and ensure that the "Use printer online" "Set as default" options have a check mark.
If you do not have the cd for the printer it can be downloaded for free from hp.com. Post back if you need further help. Steve
