Question about Frigidaire Affinity ATF7000E Front Load Washer
I have a frigidare Frigidaire fwt449gfs1 the latch broke so I order part 131279001 but it doesn't fit in the lock so i ordered part 134456600 which fits in the latch- but now i cannot open the door and while it says the door is locked, the washer will not start. What can I do to get my door back open and get my washer to work?
After looking at the schematic of this machine it seems that the door AND the control board have to work perfectly together in order for the safety mechanisms to operate correctly. You may have a bad control board or a loose wire. The best thing to do is look closely at a schematic and make sure that everything looks right. here is a blueprint: http://www.pcappliancerepair.com/model/index.php?id=FWT449GFS1

Testimonial: "Well I've been over this, and the part that looks like the one in the schematic did not work... however, that is neither here nor there at the moment, as the door is now stuck shut and I cannot open it to make another attempt at fixing it. How do I get the door back open without breaking the door?"

The control is most likely bad. If lights flash on front let me know which ones and how many as it will sometimes tell me what the failure is. Thanks, please leave feedback or contact me again for more info if you need it.

SOURCE: Broken door latch
Why do you want to fish it out, the door might malfunction. I suggest you change the door lock mechansim, can do it your self.

Yes, the original issue was the control from the beginning. the control is damaged and it cannot register the latch at this point. this is necessary and , it will fix the issue.

the door lock has internal relays, if they go bad, the motor control board will not function. Even if you cant physically see anything, and even if the door still locks, the door lock assembly is still the most likely problem and needs replaced. The only way to test it is with a multimeter to know for sure before you buy a new one

Tips for a great answer:
Thank you for your inquiry!
From what you are describing it sounds like a possible issue with your door latch assembly or control panel. If your latch is not catching the door strike or the strike is not sitting securely inside of the latch it could cause the washer to pause because it is not sensing that the door is locked.
It could also be a sensor within the control panel causing the issue and if that is the problem the control panel would need to be replaced. I recommend reaching out to a professional for further assistance to avoid any unnecessary part purchases. -Matt

Hello zabbster - Typically the DR or DO error code indicates that the door switch is not closed. Make sure that the door lock is completely closed. If the door is closed, make sure the door latch is not broken. If the latch is broken, you may possibly need to replace the door lock switch.
