Fax Header How Do I Change the fax number that appears on the top of the receivers fax? The one we have now is incorrect and I don't know where to go in the machine to change it.....Kazza

Hi! Somewhere, either on the header or footer of the FAX or on the Cover sheet should be listed the name or company of the sender, his/her phone number, the computer id, the time and date and the fax number. If you received a FAX where all of this information is missing, it may be from a scammer. There should be some sort of ID. Look carefully at the top and bottom of each page. Hope this helps.

The software that came with the printer will have a "setup" or "settings" icon. You can change it there.

If you can't find it or never installed it you can delete the printer software and re-install it and you can start from scratch with the new information you want.

This selects Basic Fax Setup, then selects Fax Header. 3 After Your Name appears, enter your name using the numeric keypad, as described in the next section, enter text, then press Enter. 4 Using the keypad, enter your fax number. 5 After you finish entering your fax number, press Enter.

To set or change the fax header
1. Press Setup.
2. Press Basic Fax Setup, and then press Fax Header.

Changing the Fax Configuration

1 Click Start/Programs or All Programs/Accessories/ Communications/ Fax, and then click Fax Console.
2 In Fax Console, click Configure Fax on the Tools menu to start the Fax Configuration
Wizard.
3. On the Transmitting Subscriber Identification (TSID) screen, type the identification information (usually your fax number and your name or business name) in the TSID box. This information will appear in the header area of the faxes you send and identifies your
fax machine to the person who receives your faxes.

press Menu
press 5 then 2
select the "fax header" option
when your name appears, enter your name using the keyboard.
the keyboard is similar to cell phone keyboard.
press enter
enter the fx number when your are prompted
press enter when finish.

You can actually change the fax header by following the steps:

1, Press on SETUP button on the printer, then scroll down using the ARROW RIGHT BUTTON;
2. Look for Basic Fax Setup, then press okay;
3. Under Basic fax setup, scroll down and look for FAX HEADER, then press okay.
4. From that option, it will allow you to change the informations for the fax header.
