My Nintendo DS quit playing sound through the speakers. It only has sound through headphones. One minute it was working then the battery went dead. After I plugged it to the charger the sound does not...

Try leaving the DS on until the battery dies, then charge it all of the way with the DS off. If that doesn't work, I would call Nintendo customer service. They are excellent at helping people with problems just like this. Here is the 800 number I got off of their website. 1-800-895-1672

DS - Brain Age

I hear you on that one. None of the Brain Training games work for me...
It will not accept the letters T or L for me, or the number 6,in Brain Age.
I contacted Nintendo on this matter and they simply told me..."print more clearly,or try printing in a different way."
My husband cannot seem to get it to accept his 7's...
The problem is that most stores will not take ANY games back once they have been opened. You have to send them to Nintendo or whoever but it costs shipping and you never know if you'll get anything in return.

Nintendo DS Lite games won't work!

my son's DS had the same problem this week. With the DS turned off, ,I pushed the game in and held it right down while turning the DS on. The game registered and I let go of the game and it clicked in to place. The next time I tried the game it registered straight away. Good luck!

I only can guess 2 possible damages kind of repairable by a non technician:

1) The plastic switch cover is broken, then you may need to buy a new one (usually stores sell the complette shell). Or you can try to find the broken piece and paste it again in place, out of the DS, you wont like to broke also the volume switch.

2) The volume switch (toogle, variable resistor) may have a cracked solder then you may need to resolder the switch to the board. Or if the switch is broken then you would have a problem to find a replacement, but you can also buy a broken NDSL for parts.

If you want to try a DIY repair you can start by finding a 3 winding and some philips and blade small screwdrivers plus maybe a soldering gun or maybe some epoxy glue depending on the damage, but you need to carefully open the NDSL.

You can find many guides to do that in youtube, like the one named: "Disassembling Nintendo DS Lite"

GOOD LUCK...
