Question about RCA L32WD12 32 in. LCD HDTV

1 Answer

I have a RCA L26Wd12YX1. The remote has been acting up but I believe it is actually the infrared sensor in the tv going out. I took the back off and took out and put back in the connection ribbon for that part and it seemed to work fine until I moved it back to the stand where it doesn't work again. What is that part called so that I can find it to replace it? Or is there an easier quicker fix ?

SOURCE: RCA universal nor cable remote will program RCA L40FHD41 TV

might be able to use the cable co remote and autosearch thru the codes, but its too hard to explain, the cable tech should have ran that procedure. unfortunately, rca has 50 million models. it is common to have a tv and yes rca for sure, to not take the codes. sometimes the tv is too new for the cable company remotes to work. i am leaning toward the tv too new theory. give it six months and i bet there will be a new remote version.

Check the remote control for its infra-red emission. Check it with fresh batteries. Check by pressing each button on it at a time; and see whether all of it generates infrared signal while pressing. Toshiba 32a14 does not respond to remote control

Hello
There is a infrared light sensor inside the TV which detects the infrared rays emitted from the remote control, when we press each button on the remote control. If this sensor has got damaged, the set won't respond to any remote control handset. The sensor can be located just behind the infrared sensor window at the front panel of the TV. To access it, you have to open the TV. It is a three terminal component, will be soldered diretily to front panel circuit board, of with the main baord itslef. Will look somewhat brownish black in colour. There are so many types can be seen . Just look what type if fitted with your TV.

My supra tv continuosly changes channels non stop and the remote refuses to work what could be the problem?

Something in the environment may be emitting an infrared signal that it interprets as a command to change channels. Perhaps your remote or some other one. Try masking the TV's remote sensor so it can't 'see' any remotes and see if it stops acting wierd.

Back to YOUR remote.

Read this procedure to possibly fix the remote:
http://remotes.com/remotes/servlet/rs?a=Display&contents=help_deadremote&uuid=A12963989782821
They also sell replacement remotes.
Zoom in on the picture of the original remote provided on the site (or look at your own) and get the actual remote model number.

or check eBay: search for "(model of the device or the remote) remote", check the 'include description' box. Usually cheaper than the vendors.

Remote not working

Hello
You just check whether the remote control has infrared light emission from it or not. It can't be see with our eye, as infrared rays are invisible to us. Put new cells in the remote handset before you proceed. If you have a cellphone with camera option, the things are easy. Put the cellphone on camera mode, and place your remote control just in front of its lens, at about one feet away or so, press each button on your remote handset, The camera will sense the infrared radiation, and you can see its image on its screen. If there is infrared radiation sign, and still your TV doesn't respond to it, your TVs infrared sensor inside it is faulty. It comes just behind the infrared window ath the front panel of your Tv. It is a three terminal component, and can be resoldered out of the board, and can be replaced. Open your TV, locate it and resolder it from the board. go with that as a sample, and buy a new one with same type and number. its number will be printed [laser markling], on its boady, and should insist on it,a s it is a critical part. Replaceing it will solve your problem. Ok

What is a bad remote sensor

Hello
In all remote controlled optioned TVs have an internal circut section and a remotes sensor inside the front panel boad of that TV. The remote control hanset produces infrared rays of differnt frequencies, as we push each of its buttons. The frequency will be entirely different to one an other.
Infrared invisible rays are generated by an LED[ Light Emitting Diode], which fitted on the front side or the remote control hanset, and is directed to the infrared sensor window at the front pannel of the Tv, and will fall onto the infrared sensor inside it, and that sensor will convert these signals to digital format and gives it to the system control Ic to process.
The infrared sensor is a 3 leged element, which can be located inside the front panel of your TV, just back to the infrared window. It may get damaged, or may not get proper volttage. It shuld be replaced, if damaged, or find out the reson for the voltage drop, or no voltage condition.
Normally infrared failure is common. It is not so costly as you think, here in India we can get for about Rs25/= comes about 1/2 US Dollar. Ok.

I guess you mean by remote and the front panel button? I had that problem and I took off the top rear panel and moved my front control panel circuit board to the left just a little. This is looking from the back side. I guess the buttons were no longer lining up and the infrared sensor may have been blocked preventing the remote from controlling the tv. I also unpluged and then reinstalled the control panel wiring harness. It was blue and is right behind the middle picture tube. I hope this may help someone if not you.
