Good Morning! I would check the oven temperature sensor first. There are a lot tutorial videos that can be found by Googleing, "How to test my oven temperature sensor." If the sensor is good, and reads 1100 ohms at room temperature.. then the issue youre experiencing is likely control board related. Given that the part is no longer available new, the oven board will have to be rebuilt. Fixyourboard does this and offers a 2 year warranty with each remanufacture.

My Maytag MGR5750ADW oven will take forever to preheat. It does get hot, but the preheat light takes a very long time to go out. Food takes much longer to cook as the oven does not seem to get up to temp.

When the food you're baking is done on top but not on the bottom--or when baking just takes far too long to finish--the bake element may be burned out. You may get fooled into thinking it's working, because the oven is hot inside. But many electric ovens use the broil element, too, during the preheat and bake cycles. So the food may be getting heated only by the broil element, which causes poor baking results. If the bake element is burned out, replacing it should solve the problem. To determine if the heating element is burned out, watch the part testing video at the bottom of this page. Otherwise, you need to further troubleshoot the oven's electrical system to locate the defective wire or component. When the temperature is consistent but too high or too low, it could be one of several different things. First check to see if the thermostat sensing bulb has come loose from its holder. It could be lying on the floor of the oven or resting on the heating element. This would cause the oven to not heat correctly. If the thermostat bulb is not dislodged, it's likely that the thermostat or sensor is either mis-calibrated or defective. Electronic ovens with a digital display use a sensor to monitor oven temperature. To solve temperature problems for these models, you may need to replace the sensor. On some digital-display models, you can calibrate the temperature using the key pad. See your operator's manual for details. Ovens without a digital display often use a mechanical system for controlling temperature. On many of these units, you can remove the thermostat knob and adjust the knob itself to more accurately represent the actual setting of the thermostat. If, when you remove the knob, there's a screw on the back of it with a small calibration plate, you can loosen the screw, adjust the plate, then tighten the screw again. When my oven is on for about 10 to 15 minutes it then turns itself off and beats reading the code F2


F2 error code usually relates to over temperature on the oven cleaning cycle, (where the temperature in the oven exceeds 990 degrees) This has obvious safety implications.

Normally it is caused by a faulty temperature sensor but can also be caused by 'stuck on' relay contacts in the 'oven clean' cycle controlller or a stalled cooling fan or air flow problem.

As with all electronic circuits sometimes the problem will disappear if you switch the power off for 30 mins thn rest the oven but if the problem persists you will need to have the oven sensor replaced.

Hi,

I don't think it's a concern. This is a common inquiry I get from customers of all makes of gas stoves (even some electric). It's usually just the bottom panel of the oven, because it is a separate piece to the rest of the oven cavity when it's cooling down it will often "bang", "pop" or as you described, "click". from the metal twisting or expanding and contracting from the heat up and cool down process.

    These are the F2/F3 error codes for a Tappan oven

    Adjusting Oven Temperature
    Oven temperature has been factory calibrated and tested. If
    oven consistently over or under cooks food, adjust thermostat.
    Oven temperature can be increased or decreased 35°F. To
    avoid over adjusting oven, move temperature 5°F each time.
    1. Push BAKE pad.
    2. Press + pad until an oven temperature greater than 500°F
    shows in display.
    3. Immediately push and hold, approximately 5 seconds,
    BAKE button until “00” appears.
    4. Press + or - arrow pad to adjust oven temperature.
    • To increase oven temperature (for a hotter oven), Press
    pad until a positive number appears in display.
    • To decrease oven temperature (for a cooler oven),
    Press pad until a negative number appears in display.
    5. Press OVEN CANCEL pad to save adjustment.
    • Setting is saved if power fails or is disconnected.
