The lan card on your computer is integraded to the motherboard,so buying a new one would be faster and much cheaper than taking it to a computer or electronics repair shop. There is also a possibility that there is a sofware error and you need to reinstal the lan drivers,or just check your settings.

SOURCE: replacing an ethernet port on my hp pavillion

Your ethernet port is probably integrated into the motherboard of your computer. Have you tried reinstalling the driver for the ethernet?

If the port is truly bad, my suggestion would be to purchase an ethernet card or NIC (Network Interface Card) and have it installed. You can get them for $15 to $25 at any big box computer store.

SOURCE: Ethernet port is bad

Hi..

Do you mean is the port itself it is not removable. The things you should do is to buy a LAN card device and install that device in your computer including the driver. Now you can connect to internet and access.

SOURCE: I need to replace the Ethernet card but I see no

Sure you can't see the Ethernet card because that is integrated motherboard so that means all the controller cards(graphic, audio, network) are in same place in chip set.
First try to uninstall network drivers and to install again if that will not work you can install PCI network card (they are very cheap).

The best and easiest option for you is to buy a "USB wireless adaptor".

SOURCE: can i put an ethernet

Of course, just add a PCI LAN card of a small profile. One like

If necessary remove the front blade - 2 screws to take out.

Have a Dell Inspiron 545, stoped operating. I can not even go into the BIOS with no out put control. When turning on the device, I here one beep then some times I get an error indacating the usb's

If its a single beep then check your RAM. take it out of slots and reinsert it again.. change the slots if possible. Also update the drivers that control your PC, use a system utility tool like Reginout to fix different windows errors.

Dell Inspiron ethernet card plug bad, either send tower to Dell for 3 weeks or replace and bypass with new ethernet card PCI, any problems with doing this?

There should not be any problem with you buying your own PCI ethernet card and install it yourself. They are not that expensive. www.newegg.com has on for only $7.99 and it will work fine in your computer. It does not need to be from Dell.

Ethernet in Docking Station

Some docking stations require device drivers in order for the ports to work. Try the link bellow for any drivers that are for the docking station. They're generally under utilities or applications, but could be else where. If there are no drivers, or if they don't work, then I suggest having the port checked. It could be a bad port. Also try any updated ethernet drivers for the machine, if it uses the machines integrated ethernet, then it could be the controller driver as well.
