Question about Delavan Diaphragm Pump 12V 60PSI 50GPM Deman Pump

1 Answer

Delavan 12v pump keeps cutting out after about half an hour. Just no response. Had chap come and look at it and it worked fine! Is there a temperature cut out switch or some such? Very frustrating. David

There could be some kind of thermal shutdown device. Check the pump at the half hour point for excessive heat. I am guessing that the chap who "looked" at it did not operate it for a half hour before declaring it fine.

Proton Gen 2 petrol pump. Not working, no fault codes. What's wrong?

Remove the pump and test it outside the car. Your half second 12v sounds right. When you turn on the ignition switch the voltage to the fuel pump will only be on for about half second but when you crank the engine the voltage going to the fuel pump goes steady

I have a suzuki grand vitara 2004 1.6 petrol and i have put a new thermostat on car and the temperature gauge is still rising when i run the car for aprox 1 hour and do 70 miles per hour, the fans are...

First check your fuses and relays for the fan. Next, you can run 12V directly from the battery to the fan, if it operates, you can eliminate a bad fan as a possibility of the cause and then test the fan's thermostat switch. If the radiator is sufficiently corroded it will also cause the symptoms you describe since part of the cooling surfaces will be effectively blocked off. The chance that the water pump is causing the problem is very slim. You can verify the pumps operation by starting the engine with the radiator cap off and allowing it to get up to operating temperature. When it's at operating temperature, you should see the coolant flowing through the radiator; it's the water pump that causes the flow through the radiator. If you see the coolant flowing, your pump should be fine.

How do you stop a 12 volt water pump from short cycling when the outlet tap is on

Is this in a camper? You can either increase the flow to match that of the pump, or install a "bladder" tank in your plumbing system. A small air bladder tank is not too expensive. You charge it with a min of air pressure. When the pump comes on, it will pump the water, and this will compress the bladder raising the pressure in the bladder. When you begin to use the water, the bladder tank will begin to supply the water, when the pressure drops sufficently enough for the pump to come on the cycle will repeat, allowing the pump to start and stop with a delay in between instead of off-on-off-on etc.

Maytag window airconditioner, temperature setting changes automatically gradually from 73 to 88 degrees. Unplugged it, started it again, works for about 30 minutes fine, then changes temperature again.

You have the sleep mode set, which gradually increases the temperature setting( Usually 1degree each half hour until the off time is reached), so turn off sleep mode and it should be fine
