Question about HP Computers & Internet
Well, hook up a voly meter that have a max an min logging then take a look over time.
also, use a UPS on your monitor with a surge protection this will avoid line problem. then you will be able to argu that your line is not the problem.
As for the monitor itself, I can not tell.

I too have an HP vs19 lcd monitor that the power stopped working around 18 months of use.
I have been searching trying to find a website that maybe someone had taken photos of their repairs on these vs19 lcd monitors.
Haven't found a site yet.
I would like to know before I attempt to open up the back of my monitor, the capacitors you are speaking of, are these soldering or do they just plug into the power board?
I'll be hitting the radio shack to see if I can get these capacitors.

You should have received two cables with the monitor. One is for VGA and plugs into you video card or computer board . The second one is for DVI digidal video and if you have that cable it plugs into the square connector. Then if you look into your monitor manual or quick setup sheet it will tell you how to connect and set the monitor to either VGA or Digital. I'm sure that is what has to be set. Don't hook up both cables to the monitor and computer. Only use the one. Digital gives you a better picture if your computer has that function. Hope this is helpful. Bud

there's an internal hardware problem in your monitor - cold soldered / defective electronic part/s. I suggest to bring the unit to an authorized service center for proper diagnosis & fix the problem. best regards
