It should automatically rewind when the roll is at the end. For mid-roll rewind press both the rewind buttons simultaneously for about 1 sec and the film will rewind.

I have a 36 shot film and it stops at 26 shots , need help

At first glance it seems your camera may need repair. First thing I would do is clean the contacts that read the cartage. Put in a cartridge that you can afford to play with. Put the lens cap on keeping light from exposing the film, fire off the frames until it stops. If it still stops at 24-26 rewind the film (hope you have a film puller). Open the camera back fire off some shots then replace the film trying it again. If that does not work the counter is in need of repair.

However, I would not repair it I would purchase another film camera such as the Nikon N80 and if you can afford it the F100. Both are much superior to the N65. You can find N80 at KEH.com for less than $100, As of today, 2013-10-17, I see one in E+ condition for $76, a N65 for $14.

I've used the Quantaray PZ-1 DSZ on my Nikon N80 film camera and had no problems. I would like to use it on my digital Nikon D60.

There is no problem with the trigger voltage, which I assume is your primary concern. You may not get all of the features you would with a Nikon flash, but you should be able to use it with the D60 just as you use it with the N80.

N80 , frame number blinks, won't advance

According to the manual, the only time the frame counter blinks, is when the back is open or partially open when attempting to rewind film. Push on the back to be sure it's properly snapped closed to see if that solves the issue.

How do i rewind the film in my nikon n2020

Set the film advance mode selector to L.

While sliding film rewind lever, push film rewind button.

Fold out film rewind crank and rotate until film advance indicator stops moving.

If you don't have a manual, you can download one from http://www.butkus.org/chinon/nikon.htm

FILM WILL NOT REWIND

On the N80 - there are custom functions you can set in terms of when a film rewinds. Normally it is default to rewinding automatically at the end of a film. If this setting has been changed, or you want to rewind a film before the end - you need to press two buttons and hold them, at the same time.

The first button is the LCD backlight button next to the LCD, and the second is the flash sync button on the rear of the camera. Both should have a little red film symbol on them. Press them both and hold them, and the film should begin to rewind.

I have some infrared film: IR 820c. How do I take photos with this film in my Nikon N80?

From the N80 manual: "Infrared films cannot be used since an infrared sensor is used for the detection of the film frame position."

If you need a manual, you can get one at http://butkus.org/chinon/nikon.htm

Rewind film

As far as I know, not all cameras have the option to rewind before shooting the whole roll. I have a Canon that has a small button on the bottom of the body, you push it in with a pen or something similar, to rewind. With the Nikon N80 you press the flash button on the back left of the body (next to the bracketing button) and the light button next to the digital screen on the top right, simultaneously, to rewind.
