Could be the contacts are shorting out. Dust, Grime, and Moisture can cause these problems. If after you attempt to clean out the keypad, it still is intermit, the keypad needs replacing.

Couple of drops of water splashed on keyboard....softly ran paper towel across all keys and now some of the function keys are messed up. Any way to restore just keyboard to factory default. We don't...

This is not a software related issue wherein we can have it resolved by doing system restore. This is a physical defect on the keyboard which means that it may need replacement. But before you bring it to a service center, try to blow dry your keyboard first. But be careful not to focus you blow dryer too much on the keyboard as they are made of plastic. It might melt then. Keep it in a distance. Do not use the computer, or even try to turn it on for at leave 48 hours. Check if it works, then that means you are able to dry it. If it does not, then it's due for a keyboard replacement.

I changed the batteries in the logitech keyboard but have a hard time getting keys to work

Is this an intermittent problem? Some keys work sometimes?
I had a similar problem with a wireless keyboard that was need another wireless device (a wireless phone). Some wireless devices use the same frequency (2.4Ghz is very popular). This can cause problems in transmission.
Please rate if this answer helped.
Thank you!

Have had this Asus 50IN for 2.5months. After 1 month some of the keys on the keyboard started to become intermittent. Comma "," and the Period "." especially. Now after 2.5 months, the "v" is not working...

Use a keyboard cleaning foam and spray to clean it. If this does not help maybe you need a new keyboard and since it has warranty then they should replace it for free.Hope that helped!!!

Keyboard on my MacBook laptop works intermittently. I re-installed OS X but that didn't fix it. Do I need to replace the keyboard?

It's possible you just have a loose cable.
Find any USB keyboard. Plug it into a USB port on your MacBook and use it. If you can use this keyboard and it doesn't fail intermittently, it's a hardware problem in your on-board keyboard or cable, not a software problem.

If it's a hardware problem, you're going to need to find someone who can open up your laptop and fix it, especially if it's under warranty.

GE Wireless Keyboard - intermittent keys

I would be more inclined to think that its a mechanical problem. You didnt indicate how long youve been using it or how heavy a hand you have while typing but I think its probably a safe bet that the keyboard hasn?t worn out from use. I have had problems with lightly constructed plastic keyboards that are slightly bowed or warped in spots. The keys dont always make a connection with the contact below so your keystroke isn?t registered. Warped areas can easily extend over several keys, thus your clustering. If this is the case there really isn?t much you can do to repair it other than call the manufacturer if its still in warranty. If not you can experiment, perhaps there is some extra plastic in a critical area that wasn?t removed. Be warned though, not many keyboards these days are designed to be taken apart and reassembled easily.
