Question about Lexmark Pro901 All-In-One Inkjet Printer

Only One Doc/Job Prints

Put multiple docs/jobs into printer Q. First one print fine. The rest sit in the Q until I restart my PC. Upon restart the rest print out and, again, only one job will print when sent to the printer. DeJaVu/Ground Hog day all over again.

    Just found this via a call to the Lexmark support line. Go to www.lexmark.com support, type SO7483 in the search box. It'll bring up a 4 page doc that actually fixed my problem with my Pro901. Even got Google Cloud Print to work. The robo-message said that a recent update to Windows 7 screwed them up and "they're working with Microsoft" to remedy it. Anyway, it worked for me. Hope it does for you too.

When multiple docs/jobs are placed in the print queue, the printer becomes all confused and doesn't know how to prioritize. The solution is to dump the existing queue (usually by shutting down the printer and even disconnecting power) then queue up one or two jobs at a time to help the printer cope. This should keep Ground Hog Day at bay - at least for awhile :-)

I've also had this problem with an HP LaserJet 4650dtn printer. I've solved this by: - Stop the "Print Spooler" service. - Delete all the existing print spool files. (Stored in "C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\PRINTERS" by default). - Start the "Print Spooler" service. - Right-click the printer's icon in the Printers and Faxes folder and choose Properties. - Click the Advanced tab. - Click the Print Processor... button. - Make a note of the existing "Print processor" selection on the left (in case you need to revert it.). Then change it to "WinPrint". Click OK. - Click OK on the printer's properties window. - Try sending a print job to see whether it persists in the print queue.

I am posting this in hopes of helping others that are having issues with the Vista print spooler. In my case, I have an HP Pavilion laptop running Vista connected to a wireless hub. I also have a Minolta Konica 2300DL printer that is connected to the network via the wireless hub as well. Ever since obtaining this laptop, I have not been able to print to the printer other than stopping and starting the print spooler to obtain a single print 'job'. After about six months I found a post that contains the fix - I cannot take credit for it! Follow these instructions to get your printer to work:

1.) Go into control panel - I would suggest classic view as it is a little easier to navigate.

2.) Then go into User Accounts.

3.) From User Accounts go into Turn User Account Control On or Off

4.) UNCHECK Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer.

5.) At this point you will probably require a reboot.

Once this exercise is complete, you should be able to print. One more item off of my Honey DOO list!!!!!

    Please try this approach instead:

    1. Browse to Start -> Run... and type in NET STOP SPOOLER (this will stop the print spooler service)

    2. Browse to your windows\system32\spool\PRINTERS\ folder. You should see files there ending in .SPL and .SHD created around the time you tried to print - delete these files.

    3. Browse to Start -> Run... and type in NET START SPOOLER (this will restart the print spooler service)

    4. Double click the printer icon in the lower-right corner of your taskbar to examine your print job queue and browse to View -> Refresh.

    Open the Start menu and click on 'Printers and Faxes' or Control Panel>Printers in Windows 7. Right-click on the printer and click 'Open', this will display the print qeue, you can right click on print jobs and cancel them, pause them, or restart them.

    I would recommend you download the latest drivers for your printer, and also check to see if your powerpoint has updates as well.

    also, its possible your printer does not have enough memory to print complex graphics, try reducing the quality or resolution of your file.

    Can you give a little more info, you say the same doc keeps printing, do you know how many times you haved tryed to print this doc.

    If you can get inside the print q and delete the print job.

    then try a new print job it sounds like the same job is stuck in the Q

    Canon MP730 stops printing midstream


    Is the issue the same with a anormal text document or just with heavily colored docs? If the text doc gets printed fine, then it is an issue with print spooler and we might need to work on that. revert & lemme know
