I have a Pioneer PDR 609 CD recorder. I put a disc in and it says Pro disc din unlock.

I have Pioneer PDR 609 CD recorder. I bought Verbatim blank discs. When I put one in and push record I get a "Pro Disc Din Unlock" message. I used another type and got "Coaxial Din Unlock" What do I do?

This is nearly always due to cable problems. I think the cheaper optical cables can get 'kinked' quite easily, which would stop the signal coming through properly. So, first check your settings to make sure the correct cable type has been selected. If that's OK, try replacing the cable with a good quality one.

SOURCE: Won't burn CD-r or DVD-R

Hi,
make sure that your program that is setup to record. i.e nero-img burn et,c. is set to look at the drive D:- Or E:- whichever letter your drive is assigned by the computer.
Also try using a different Blank-media. if any disk has failed a full write, without finalizing Or creating the Table Of Contents. It will read as Empty Or Blank. you can see This By looking carefully at the underside of the Disk, to see whether it has been burned by the laset. ( Towards The Centre ) if the Dye is darker on the inner-edge, then this is possible.
You can also try using a different Packet writing software, or re-install the program.
Hope this helps.

I know your problem however it is easily fixed, the burner has worn out, the laser basically is not putting out enough light for it to work properly, the best and easiest fix, goto tigerdirect.com and replace the burner, they now start as low as 24.00 and go up to around 65.00 so it's not an expensive fix.

How to connect my iPod to a Pioneer PDR-609

The Pioneer PDR-609 is a personal CD recorder used in conjunction with the rest of your home audio system. The equipment has a few audio inputs, however, so you can connect external devices to play through the Pioneer PDR-609, including an Apple iPod. You need a special adapter cable, but once connected, the sound from your iPod through the speaker Pioneer system.

1. Connect the end of the cable 3.5 mm headphone of your Apple iPod.

2. Select "Line In" as the display option in the Pioneer, then the song you want to listen to your iPod and press select "Play". Need to unlock din lock

By 'Unlock din', do you mean unlock the region the recorder uses, unlock the din input or unlock the tray or what?
When recording and you see 'unlocked', it means the DIGITAL signal you are trying to record is unclear or missing.
If you are trying to record a signal from another region disc, it will not copy. Add a little detail.

I have PIONEER PDR 609 C.D RECORDER AND I HAVE

Not a very specific problem description...

Did it ever work for you? You don't say what DOES happen when you try.

Is the signal reaching the recorder? Is it visible on the display when you select MONITOR?

Are you using CD-R AUDIO or MUSIC blank media? It requires them, not CD-R data disks.

Tape Input should be straightforward if you don't want to route it through a receiver - L and R Out from the deck to L and R Input on the CDR.

Through a receiver: if it has capacity for two decks, connect the PDR-609 itself as a the second cassette deck, then select copy, duplicate or whatever passes for it on the receiver to copy cassettes.

Without specifics of your interconnected gear I can't really go much further.

Phono is a whole 'nuther thing. Traditional turntables require a phono preamp (generally present in old receivers) to boost the tiny signal generated by the stylus to a usable level for downstream electronics. Most modern AV receivers DO NOT have a phono preamp.

Hi can i record on my pioneer pdr 609 cd without using the remote control,as ive purchased a unit with out one and cant get it to record, thanks

Hi John
You should be able to record without the remote control; make sure you have a blank disc in place, then press the 'RECORD' button on the front; it should go into recording standby mode. When you want to start recording, press the button below the REC BALANCE buttons (the play/pause button, marked with a triangle and a II symbol) and this should get you going.
Try it and get back to me if not.
Hope it works!

Can't get it to record

I experienced this problem a long time ago, i believe that it was because i tried to use a normal data cd-rw but the unit only reads audio discs. It has to be a cd-rw for audio only (will say cd-rw audio on the disc, whereas if it is a data disc it will simply say cd-rw.) Hope this helps..

Wont record on blank pc disks!

I had the same problem and found that I was using the wrong type of CDs. If you look on the CD you have to use the CD that says Compact disc digital audio Recordable or Compact disc digital audio Rewrittable. After I used the Digital ones I could record on it. I then tried the CD on the PC and it worked. You can look on the top of the unit and see the information if you still have it. Hope this helps you.

I can not get my CD recorder to record

You should use consumer cd's that are rather expensive. You probably tried to record a recordable cd-rom (a cheap computer disc). It's not possible to burn a pro-disc (computer disc) by using your Pioneer, and that's why you got that message on the screen. Refer to the user manual of your cd recorder and learn what sort of blank cd you should use.
