SOURCE: Dyson all floor vaccum no suction when hand held

You need to replace the belt that drives the brush on the underneath side of the vacuum. To do this, you need to flip the vacuum over and remove cover plate. There you will find the broken, or stretched out belt. Remove the brush and place the new belt on the chrome axle. Then put the brush on, rapping the new belt around the brush as you put the brush back in place.

SOURCE: no suction on dyson dc24 ball

Well i just fixed my Dyson Ball with the same problem you have. My wife and i found out it was a crumpled receipt in the lower section of the hose at the upright/handheld pivot #3 in diagram and it was catching cat hair and other things. I began by removing the canister and turned on the vacuum to see if the direct access to the fan had suction. Then i moved to #5; i reattached the canister and threw in some cat hair into it from the bottom. i turned on the vaccum to see if it spinned around; it didnt. I then moved to #4, i removed the head and then turned on the vaccum to see if maybe the head had a leak at the top connecter; as i predicted the strength was minimal. I then worked my way to #1 to see if the strength was the same or if there was a difference. no difference for us. Well then it must be #3.. of course the last one i checked. I used a small flashlight and peared in and i didnt see anything... i then used a coathanger very softly as to not puncture the hose. i then noticed some hair being pushed out but the main culprit wasnt showing. my wife gave me needle nose pliers and i pried the hose off of the top connection in #3; so i could get a better look; you may be able to push it off with your hands. and viola! a crumpled reciept for 3 Monster energy drinks.... the same ones....i drink... oops!... hopes this helps. just go through it step by step. youll know its working once stuff begins to spin in the canister. almost regretted throwing that dyson registry junk away.

Dyson dc24 no suction from hose

If your Dyson DC24 vacuum has no suction from the hose, it could be due to a blockage or a problem with the hose itself. Here are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the problem:
  1. Check the hose for any blockages or kinks. Remove any blockages or straighten out any kinks to restore suction.
  2. Check the hose for any visible damage, such as holes or cracks. If the hose is damaged, it will need to be replaced.
  3. Check the hose connection points to make sure they are secure and not loose.
  4. Check the filters to make sure they are clean and not clogged. If the filters are dirty or clogged, they can reduce suction.
  5. If the problem persists after trying these troubleshooting steps, you may need to take the vacuum to a repair center for further diagnosis and repair.

My Dyson Vacuum DC24 suction loss.

You sound pretty savvy in your troubleshooting. Take a look at this video. You may have a split in one of your three suction hoses. I tried to find a video for a DC24 but to no avail. These two models are pretty close and this video should help you out.

Loss of suction in the hose

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

If your DC24 doesn't seem to be picking up as well as it should be through the hose, it's likely you have a blockage somewhere in the wand, hose or airway. Our online Support guide should help you resolve this with some simple troubleshooting checks:

http://www.dyson.co.uk/support/dc24new/dc24-multi-floor/maintaining-your-dyson-machine/how-to-remove-a-blockage-wand-and-hosedc24

DC24 has two lifetime filters which should be washed at least once a month. Use cold water without detergent, and allow both filters to dry completely for at least 24 hours before replacing them:

This should resolve the issue, but if you'd like further advice after giving these steps a try please give us a call on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

Dyson dc24 no suction at head of cleaner, the hose has good suction and the brushes are not spinning

Hi Janice,

If your machine has no suction from the cleaner head, I'd recommend that you check the machine for blockages and reset the brushbar. To locate and remove any blockages, please follow the steps shown in our online Support guide:

http://www.dyson.co.uk/support/dc24/dc24-multi-floor/my-machine-is-not-working/machine-not-sucking-picking-up-as-well-as-usual/filter-washing-video

To reset the brushbar, please follow the steps shown in the video below. The brushbar will not rotate when the machine is standing upright, so please recline it into the vacuuming position before testing it.

This should resolve the issue, but if you need any assistance locating the blockage, please call our Helpline on 0800 298 0298 (UK), or 1-866-693-9766 (US).

Best wishes,

Jack

What is causing weak suction on my new Dyson DC24 animal vacuumed?

Hello, this is Ava with Think Crucial.

Most of the time the reason why the vacuum is not picking up is due to loss of suction. You may need to check for blockages of your wand and hose. Remove the wand and hose from your cleaner when checking for blockages and any damages. Make sure to turn off and unplug your vacuum from the power before doing this. Please refer to this troubleshooting guide for more information on how you can remove blockages:

After pulling the extension rod up and using the extension attachments i cannot get the rod to go back down,It seems like there is something blocking the rod from going down

Hi there,

Sorry to hear you're having a problem with your DC24. For the correct way to replace the wand and hose after use, you might find it helpful to refer to the user guide supplied with your machine. In case you don't have this to hand, here is an online copy:

http://media.dyson.com/downloads/UK/floorcare/Manuals/DC24_uk_manual_120710.pdf

You should find the wand slides back down inside the hose without resistance, and locks into place with an audible 'click'. If it's not doing this, please get in touch with us free on 08002980298 (UK), or 1866MYDYSON (US), so we can provide further assistance.

Kind regards,

My vacuum comes on and make loud noise but will not **** anything up

the vacuum is clogged either the hose or the canister. turn it upside down to unclog it if its in the hose, take the hose off and turn it around and put it back until your hear the suction sound like a big thump, then put your hand to cover the hose and feel if the suction got stronger, then replace the hose, if rhat doesnt work find something to push the clog thru the hose and periodically put the hose in to suction the clog out.
